We’re loving this HUGE open-plan kitchen in one of our almost complete projects.

With modern shaker cabinets, a huge central island, quartz worktops, NEFF ovens, and expansive aluminium slidimg doors and windows, it’s as practical as it is beautiful. The vaulted ceiling with oak trusses gives the space character and makes it feel really special.

🏆 We’re absolutely thrilled! 🏆

Stanley C Baker & Sons Ltd are proud to have received a Commendation in the 2025 William Stansell Somerset Historic Building Awards for our work at St Andrew’s Church, Compton Dundon.

This special project brought the village’s historic bells — originally cast three centuries ago — back into full use. From the new ringing floor and bell frame to the careful restoration throughout, it was a real labour of love.

We might be known for our new builds and modern projects, but this proves we’re just as passionate (and skilled!) when it comes to preserving the old. Heritage work takes patience, precision, and a huge respect for the past — and we’re so proud to have played a part in keeping this piece of Somerset history alive.

The William Stansell Historic Building Awards, presented by the Somerset Building Preservation Trust, celebrate outstanding conservation and restoration projects across Somerset. SBPT is a charity dedicated to rescuing and restoring historic buildings, promoting traditional craftsmanship, and ensuring these remarkable structures continue to be part of our community for generations to come.
