A proud full-circle moment for the team at Hewitson Limited.

Jack was our very first apprentice to join us through Derwentside College, and after a successful 5 years with the company, he is now on track to progress into a management role.

His journey is a great example of how apprenticeships can create real career opportunities, helping individuals grow, develop their skills, and build long-term careers within the industry. We’re proud to have supported his progression and look forward to seeing what’s next for him at Hewitson Limited. Great work Jack!

Yesterday the team at Hewitson Limited had the pleasure of attending Derwentside College for their recruitment day.

It was a fantastic opportunity to meet so many enthusiastic students, talk about the industry, and discuss the exciting career opportunities available at Hewitson Limited. Events like this are incredibly important for helping young people explore their future careers, build confidence, and connect directly with local employers and industry professionals.

Phase 1 at Durham Academy is nearly complete.

Excellent progress has been made on site, with the main structure now taking shape and final works well underway. We’ll be returning in July to complete the external works on Phase 1.

Progress continues on the Redcar Hub Scheme at Redcar Seafront for Robertson Construction.

Alongside the main works, we’ve also provided a public storage hub for beach toys, dog toys and similar items for the local community to use and enjoy while visiting the seafront.

Works on site are moving forward well, with the ground floor slabs and upstands now completed, and drainage works progressing to the external areas.

It’s great to see the project continuing to come together and we look forward to sharing further updates as works progress.

Progress continues at Thornaby Leisure Centre for Galliford Try, with major milestones being achieved across the site.

Foundations are now almost complete, while the pool base waterproofing and tanking works have been finished, ready for reinforcement installation. Drainage works are also progressing well, with the petrol interceptor and surface water pumping station due to be installed imminently.

In preparation for the next phase of the build, crane mats are currently being constructed and tested ahead of the structural steelwork contractor arriving on site later this month.

Great progress from all teams involved as the project continues to take shape.

A huge thank you to Newcastle City Council and Project Manager Carl Maddison for the kind words and recognition of the work our team is delivering on site. It’s great to be involved in a project that will create fantastic new facilities for the local community.
