Great to see the walls were completed last week, making way for the next steps. 👷‍♂️ This week, it’s all about prepping for the roof, adding fire protection, and laying down the floor covering!

New Roof, Same Community Spirit!

Mytholmroyd community centre is getting a fresh new roof! 🏠✨ Thanks to the scaffolding and protective sheets, the building is safe and secure, ensuring we can all keep using it during the process. 💪 Even the wind couldn’t stop us! 🌬️

Built in 1923 by Oldfield Watson's which at the time was owned by my great grandad Ellis Watson. It was built as a memorial for the men of the parish of Wadsworth who died in the first world war. It cost £624, paid for with generous donations from the local community.

A plaque was later added for the local men who gave their lives in the second world war.
