Behind the scenes at the See Hear Remember exhibition!

We love designing spatial audio, but nothing beats seeing it out in the real world being put to work by the people it’s actually built for.

Watch a quick clip of one of our testers navigating the room using our 3D audio cues during the Shropshire event. The insights we gain from these real-time interactions are helping us refine and sharpen the system every single day.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, tested the technology, and shared their feedback with us!

Video Description: A indoor dressing room studio with mirrors lining the back wall. A man in a Red Nought black polo shirt stands facing a woman who is wearing a white virtual reality headset. Beside her stands a golden retriever guide dog wearing a red harness. The man explains the system, gesturing with his hands: "If you just look around... you'll hear the beeping sort of changing direction." The woman moves her head left and right, tracking the spatial audio, and says, "So the beeping's now on my left." She then begins walking forward confidently, guided by the audio, as her dog walks calmly alongside her. Another woman in a Red Nought black polo shirt stands closely behind her to ensure safety.

We are currently diving into the testing footage from our recent event, and we couldn’t resist sharing a quick sneak peek with you!

Seeing how everyone interacted with VGD in real-time gives us incredible insights as we continue to refine and develop this technology. A massive thank you to everyone who came out, tested the system, and shared their feedback with us, you are helping us build something truly special.

Check out the clip for a look at the testing in action

Video Description: The video opens with an animated yellow dog wearing large VR-style goggles and a red bandana. The dog uses a remote control to switch on a vintage yellow television screen.
The TV screen shows real-life footage of multiple people inside a room testing. Each tester wears a white VR headset as they practice navigating the space; one tester walks alongside a real yellow Labrador guide dog in a harness.
The clip ends by cutting back to the happy animated dog standing up on a brown leather couch.

At the recent "See Hear Remember" exhibition at Theatr eSevern, the wonderful team at the Guide Dogs UK allowed me to be blindfolded and experience being guided by an actual guide dog.

It was a humbling and truly unforgettable experience that perfectly mirrors what we are trying to achieve. As we continue testing our Virtual Guide Dog prototype, proudly supported by an Innovate UK government grant, moments like this remind us exactly why our mission matters. We aren't looking to replace the irreplaceable; we want to offer an extra, accessible tool to help people explore the world confidently using 3D sound.

A huge thank you to Guide Dogs UK for letting me try this, and to Loss Shropshire for a fantastic event!

The dog confidently navigates past rows of colorful cones and safety barriers, eventually stopping and placing its front paws onto a raised blue tactile square. The team member removes her blindfold, smiles, and rewards the dog with a treat

The checklist is nearly complete!

We are officially packed and ready to go. We can’t wait to welcome you all this Tuesday, June 16th, from 10:00 AM to experience the latest Virtual Guide Dogs prototype for yourself.

Along with Virtual Guide Dogs there are many other exhibitors offering advice, information and support for people living with sight loss, hearing loss and dementia.

See you in Shropshire!

We are so excited to be a part of the 'See Hear Remember' event on June 16th!

At Red Nought, we are passionate about using tech to bridge gaps, not create them. Our team has been working hard to refine our Virtual Guide Dog solution, and we can’t wait to show you what we've been building!

A massive thank you to Sight Loss Shropshire for organizing this, and to Theatre Severn for providing the venue. We can’t wait to meet you all there and chat about the future of independent navigation!

Who’s

Video Description: An animation showing the VGD mascot Suzie, working hard in the Red Nought R&D lab. First, she is seen typing on a colorful mechanical keyboard at a computer desk, with navigation maps and code displayed on dual monitors. The scene then shifts to Suzie proudly holding a wooden sign that reads, 'See Hear Remember, 16th June 2026.'

Ever wondered how Virtual Guide Dogs 'sees'?

We are pulling back the curtain on the technology behind our Virtual Guide Dogs. At Red Nought, our goal isn't just to map a room, it’s to bridge the gap between complex, changing surroundings and true independent movement.

Our system operates on a two-layered intelligence:

- Global Mapping: Campus-wide navigation that ensures the user is always moving toward their ultimate destination.
- Local Mapping: Real-time depth-raycasting that identifies obstacles and adjust its path instantly, just like a real guide dog would.

It’s not about re-learning a building every time someone walks past or puts an obstacle in the way; it’s about a system that adapts in real-time to the world around you.

We’re currently scaling this engine and seeking partners who share our mission to redefine personal independence. Want to see the full technical breakdown of how we're engineering this?

What if your navigation system felt less like a robotic voice command and more like a personal guide walking right beside you? 🧭✨

Spatial audio is transforming how we experience daily journeys, whether it's navigating a crowded market, finding a specific shop, or exploring a new park. By creating a 3D sound map, it delivers directions from the exact direction you need to move, keeping you safely connected to the real world around you.

Here is why it's worth embracing:

✅ Improved Safety: Real-time spatial cues help you spot hazards early.
✅ Greater Confidence: Build a better mental map of unfamiliar settings.

✅ True Freedom: Less reliance on others for directions.
It’s not just a tool; it’s a companion that empowers you to explore without fear.

We had a fantastic day demoing the Virtual Guide Dog at the Video Game Accessibility Symposium in London, a brilliant collaboration between UCL and RNIB.

Beyond the sensors and the code, we were looking for one thing: validation. We definitely found it! For us, the biggest win was hearing a tester from the sight loss community say they felt completely at ease navigating with the app.

The "Digital Safety Net" in Action! 🐾✨

We’ve spent a lot of time talking about the theory behind our technology, but today we’re showing you what it actually looks like on the ground.

This snippet from our recent testing session at Aico gives you a first-person perspective of how spatial audio transforms a complex indoor environment. There are no confusing voice commands to follow, just intuitive, spatial audio beacons that guide you naturally through the space.

It’s about more than just moving from A to B; it’s about providing a layer of confidence and independence in any environment.

Watch the full video demo and read the story behind the tech here: [Link in first comment]
