This perfect slice of the Jurassic Coast is the perfect seaside destination for anyone who wants to just sit on the beach in the sun or for those more active holidaymakers who need to be out and doing something at all times!

There are walks along the South West coastal path which follows the beach along the cliffs or you can park in the village and walk along the valley.

There is a wonderful cafe on the seafront or a secluded National Trust owned one in the village- both great places to grab coffee and lunch!

Too early for the woodburner?

It's still warm here in the Blackdown hills but we can feel the temperature wanting to drop... This makes us think of our compact but mighty Milkshed woodburner on those cosy autumn nights. Chatting with friends after dinner, playing games and that feeling of coming back in from the cold!

Some recent sunsets drivable from Milkshed...

Haytor, Dartmoor provides some stunning scenery and you can climb to the top for an even better view! Sidmouth beach promenade is a lovely flat stretch along the front, providing views along the coastline for miles!

It's been a while since we've seen grey skies here in Devon!

Rockpool's are a great way to explore the British coastline with children. Only a 30 minute drive from Milkshed is a great rock pooling location at low tide... Exmouth beach! (Lots of other beaches to visit too!)

August bank holiday is fast approaching and one of our favourite local family events is coming to Sidmouth for its yearly show! The Sidmouth Regatta Airshow takes place on Friday, 28th August 2026 starting at approximately 4pm. The perfect free event to kick off your Devon Bank holiday weekend and is headlined by the RAF Red Arrows!
