The Future Homes Standard is not only a construction challenge.

eHome2, created by Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland and Barratt Developments, was built to test future housing solutions inside the University of Salford’s Energy House 2.0 facility.

The challenge was clear:

How do you bring together heat pumps, PV, battery storage, EV charging, ventilation, shading, water safety, heating zones and energy monitoring - without creating a home full of separate controls?

Delivered by Zmart Hohm, LOXONE became the automation platform for eHome2.

It controls and monitors LOXONE devices alongside third-party technologies, while also giving the University of Salford’s research team the data and visualisation needed to study how the home performs.

This is exactly the issue developers will face as new homes become more technology-led.

Installing low-carbon technology is only part of the answer.

Grade II listed building, ready for lower-carbon heating 🏛️

Proud to have supported the refurbishment of Hillfield House in Gloucester alongside & Limbird Limited

For this project, Zmart Hohm delivered the full heating control strategy across 72 radiators and 32 rooms, with zoned heating and self-learning control to optimise heat-up times.

The system has been designed to work with the existing boiler plant now, while being future-ready for a heat pump later this year as part of the Diocese of Gloucester’s decarbonisation strategy.

A great local project combining heritage, performance and future-proofed building services.

We’ve delivered a full smart building management system at brand-new Sellafield site, designed from the ground up to be efficient, intelligent, and fully integrated.

What we delivered:

✅Warehouse heating & lighting automation with presence detection.
✅Roller door position monitoring auto-disabling heating to avoid waste.
✅Office AC control (heating & cooling) with presence detection for zoned optimisation.
✅Self-learning algorithms across all heating and cooling systems.
✅Fire alarm integration for enhanced safety response.
✅Energy monitoring & load shifting, aligning heavy loads with solar PV yield.
✅Environmental monitoring: temperature, humidity and CO₂ graphing.
✅Backed up with our remote support & proactive monitoring platform.

Signature Panel Range ✍️

Signature properties need signature solutions. We’ve just handed over another beautifully integrated smart home, a residential property brought to life through a fantastic collaborative effort with Greenham Construction, Neon Architecture, PAD Electrical and everyone else involved.

Zmart Hohm delivered the full Smart Home design, supply and commissioning package, using our Signature Panel Range as the backbone for control and automation.

From concept to completion, this project was all about blending technology seamlessly into the architecture, delivering performance, comfort and simplicity without compromise.
