From an old asbestos roof to a new Spanish slate roof. Completed in great weather for slating.

The existing asbestos roof was safely removed, wrapped and disposed of in line with regulations. When the roof was ready, we got straight to work.

A set gauge was used throughout, finished with a continuous dry verge, zinc ridge and lead end caps. To complete the job, black Lindab guttering and downpipes was installed for a clean, durable finish.

This upgrade not only improves the look of the garage but also adds long-term protection and peace of mind.

What a job this turned out to be!

The client got in touch and we instantly knew the place. It’s one of those brilliant spots right on the NC500.
What did we do? We had to swap out four old 1970s Velux windows for brand new ones and honestly, what a difference they make!
The place looks so much brighter and smarter now.
We also did a few tile repairs on the roof, rebuilt the chimney haunch and did some pointing. Couldn’t have asked for better weather up there either. We were very lucky with that!

Really chuffed to have worked on such a cracking location. It’s always nice when the job’s somewhere special that so many people get to enjoy.

We were recently called out to investigate a leaking flat roof in the centre of Inverness and what a state it was in!

The roof was pouring in multiple areas and once we removed the old felt, we discovered layer upon layer of previous repairs. A staggering 60mm of torch on felt had built up over the years. It was clear this roof had been leaking for some time and had just been patched repeatedly.

We decided the only proper solution was a full strip back to the rafters. We installed new 18mm OSB decking, two layers of underlay and a new top layer of mineral felt. We also removed the ineffective lead on the dormer and carried out new leadwork around the chimney.

The end result is a solid, new flat roof that has given the homeowner peace of mind for many years to come. We’re always delighted to have returning customers and look forward to helping them again whenever needed.

A wee while ago, we were called out to replace verge boxes that had blown off during high winds. Unfortunately, the existing style had been discontinued, so we sourced and installed brand new verge boxes in slate grey to match as closely as possible to the original look. Despite the challenges, the job was completed to a high standard and the client was very happy with the result.

Have you experienced broken gutters due to heavy snow or ice build up during winter?

This is a common issue during the colder months and it can lead to damage. Not just to your gutters, but also to walkways and the surrounding property.

Our solution: Snow Guards.

Snow guards are designed to:
• Prevent large amounts of snow from sliding off your roof at once
• Protect gutters from excess weight and damage
• Improve safety by reducing the risk of falling snow and ice

At the start of the year, we were called out to a property where the gutters had been damaged due to snow build up. We recommended installing snow guards, fitted them promptly, and the result looks great while providing long term protection.

At the start of the year, due to extreme weather conditions, the guttering in Granton failed and came away from the property. The heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures caused a significant build-up of ice, and as shown in the photos, the weight was too much for the existing system.

On inspection, it was clear the original installation had not been carried out correctly and simply wasn’t built to last. The fixings were inadequate, which led to the full failure of the gutters under pressure.

We have now carried out a full replacement and upgrade. The system has been securely fixed into the wall using 80mm fixings, with two fixings per metre to ensure maximum strength and stability. Brand new black PVC deep flow guttering has been installed, providing improved capacity and durability.

This installation is now built properly and designed to withstand harsh weather conditions for years to come. If you require anything similar where your gutters have come off, or have thought about snow rails to stop this from ever happening again. Don’t hesitate to contact us.

Hip ridge replacement carried out in Inverness after strong winds lifted the original ridge clean off.

This one was stripped back, ridge secured into place and straps all at an equal distance.

No patch jobs. No shortcuts. Done once and done right.

It’s been a while since we put a post up and here is a recent job we’ve done.

This full fibreglass flat roof was replaced using our Alwitra single ply system for AML Highland.

All existing materials and debris were removed from the roof. Damaged OSB boards were replaced before installing the new Alwitra single ply membrane.
