Another installation completed by the team at Hydropayne Services Ltd!

We've recently been working in Ashford, Kent, installing a CompAir compressed air system for one of our commercial customers.

We have just decommissioned an Atlas Copco ga45 and 55vsd compressors and replaced for brand new more efficient Compair L45rs that communicate with each other and share the loading.

The team have been working hard as always, this is a few of our recent new installations.

* We have just fitted a nice low hour second compressor to run as the customers main compressor, with the old 15 year old compressor running as back up.
* One is a energy saving variable speed compressor
* And the Champion comprerssor is a more cost affective option completed for client.

Another great installation by the team this weekend. The customer had a 30kw fixed speed machine running very hard and with over 90,000 running hours on it.
We have just replaced with a 45kw variable speed (energy efficient) compressor. Already saving our customer money with extra room for growth.
This was installed on a Saturday to help our customer with no down time.

This is a new 55 kw energy saving system we have just installed to replace a less efficient 75kw compressor that was over sized when the customer was advised a few years ago from a different agent. Well done team.

All installations are conducted in accordance with The Pressure Systems Regulations 2000 and the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) guidelines, which all contain information on how to install various compressed air distribution systems.

Written Schemes Of Examination

Under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000, users and owners of pressure systems need to show that they understand the safe working limits (especially pressure and temperature) of their operations and that they are safe following these conditions.

They require that a suitable written scheme of examination is in position before the system is operated. They also need to ensure that the system is actually examined according to the written scheme of examination.

What is a written scheme of examination?

A written scheme of examination contains information about selected items of plant or equipment that form a pressure system, operate under pressure, and contain a ‘relevant fluid’.

The phrase relevant fluid is described in the Regulations and covers compressed or liquefied gas, including air, at a pressure greater than 0.5 bar (approximately 7 psi) above atmospheric pressure; pressurised hot water above 110 °C; and steam at any pressure.
