🏡 WHEN THE FOUNDATIONS NEED A RETHINK! 🏗️

Another big update from our Upnor project and this one shows exactly why experience and attention to detail are so important in construction! 👀🔨

The team originally started work using architectural drawings that the client had arranged before bringing us on board. 📐

However, once excavation works began, the team discovered that the existing property had been built on piled raft foundations! 🧱

This raised an important issue… the foundations specified in the original architectural plans weren’t going to be sufficient for the proposed build! ⚠️

Rather than pushing ahead with something that wasn’t right, we took a step back, reassessed the situation and brought in a specialist piling team to ensure the new foundations would be suitable for the project moving forward. 💪🏗️

It’s situations like these that show why getting things right from the ground up is so important. Not everything goes exactly to plan in construction but identifying potential problems early and putting the right solutions in place makes all the difference! 👷‍♂️

🏡SOLID FOUNDATIONS START HERE! 🏗️

Another big step forward on our latest project! 👀

The piling works are now complete, with the project progressing towards a piled raft foundation 💪

A piled raft foundation combines reinforced concrete piles with a reinforced concrete raft, working together to support the building and distribute its loads safely into the ground. 🧱

The piles transfer loads deeper into suitable ground, while the raft spreads the loads across the foundation. This combined system provides a strong, stable base, helping to manage ground conditions and support the structure above.🔨

Getting the foundations right is one of the most important parts of any build, careful planning and quality workmanship from the ground up make all the difference💪👷‍♂️

It’s all in the detail on our latest project in Ramsgate, Kent! 👀👌

With the property featuring some tricky angles, we had bricks specially cut to precise angles to ensure the brickwork tied in beautifully with the existing building! 🧱🏡

Taking that extra bit of time and care makes all the difference, giving the extension a clean, seamless finish that complements the original property perfectly! 🔨👌
