A tired and failing raised decking area removed and replaced with a much more solid, long-lasting setup.

We removed the old timber structure and replaced it with a new block-built raised planter, incorporating a central timber seating area and retaining the existing established plants.

The final two images are AI visualisations showing the customer’s plans for the finished space once the beds are fully planted and the lighting is added — and we think it’s going to look absolutely stunning! 🌿🌸✨

Sometimes you don’t need to completely redesign a garden to make a huge difference. A bit of imagination can completely transform an existing space.

We’ve had a few customers contact us recently who thought Horton’s only takes on larger building projects — but that’s definitely not the case!

Alongside extensions, renovations, patios and larger projects, we’re more than happy to take on the smaller jobs too.

We wanted to use our page today to shine a light on a brilliant local organisation — Glanrhyd Dog Sanctuary

The people behind Glanrhyd dedicate an incredible amount of time, love and care to dogs who need somewhere safe to call home. Some of the dogs they care for need that little bit of extra patience, understanding and support — and Glanrhyd is there for them.

Running a sanctuary takes a huge amount of work and relies on the support of people who care about what they do.

So this post isn’t about Horton’s. It’s about them.

Another solid job ticked off ✅

Reinforced concrete slab completed and ready for Crossman Carpentry to construct a garden room.

A lot of the important work on a concrete base is the stuff you’ll never see once it’s finished — excavation, ground preparation, levels, shuttering and reinforcement all need to be right before the concrete even arrives.

✔️ Ground excavated and prepared
✔️ 150mm Sub-base installed and compacted
✔️ Shuttering set to correct levels
✔️ Steel reinforcement installed and supported
✔️ 150mm Concrete poured, levelled and finished

A proper solid foundation ready for what’s coming next. 💪

Busy times here at Horton’s Building & Maintenance Services and we’re delighted to announce another project has been secured!

This upcoming project is a 9.5m x 7m Garden Games Room, complete with a modern finish, cavity wall construction, insulation, plastering and external rendering.

It’s always a great feeling when customers place their trust in us for major projects, and we’re looking forward to bringing this one to life over the coming months.
