As Evenii expand we are constantly building our skills and confidence within the roofing sector, some of the Evenii teams this week attended Lime Mortar Training, Eden Hot Lime Mortar offer training courses for Builders, Architects and enthusiasts in the use of lime mortars.

The course is carried out within Cumbria offering a very much hands-on experience and training in the use of Lime Mortars. The application of traditional Lime Mortar is the hardest discipline to master, and without instruction can result in costly failure.
Some of the theory covered types of Lime, aggregates, why lime works, and when it won’t work, problems to look for in houses, cement, protection, gable ends, chimney pointing/rendering, mortar mixing, paints and limewash, natural Insulation, breathable floor systems and French drains.

Practical session included, making hot mixed mortars, making hot limewashes, pointing, plastering/rendering, lime skim work. roof parging/torching, timber lath work, lime Insulation.

Yesterday our contracts manager Brad Hayes and Snr Chargehand David Crank attended the NFRC Yorkshire & Northeast and Northwest Members event for the War of the Roses golf tournament. This was a first of its kind and was an event that invited two regions to go head-to-head for victory of the North.

The tournament was held at Worsley Golf Club, Manchester. The lads said it was a great day with a brilliant atmosphere, and sportsmanship between the two regions was amazing.

Progress pictures from this week’s walk around, over the next week Evenii will be overseeing the installation of the glass screen, steel emergency staircase and Air Conditioning units and then we will be moving into the snagging and hand over stages.

This project is still on time and within budget, we are proud to be working on such a great building, the new building users will love the new look for years to come.

Evenii’s roofing work on Hay Lane, Spennymoor has successfully come to a close, and ready for other trades to follow on, the works were for our valued client Oaktree Living.

Oaktree Living specialises in the delivery of new build developments for a range of social housing providers, delivering partnership, land-led and tendered works. From the initial concept to design, through to construction and after sales care.

Our works were on time and within budget, the scheme is compiled up of 19 plots that are bungalows and two-story semi-detached houses. It has been a pleasure working on a clean well managed site. We are looking forward to working with our client on future projects.

We are pleased with the outcome of our recent work on the O2 Institute, Digbeth in Birmingham.

The Digbeth Institute is a music venue located in Birmingham, England. The venue opened in 1908 as a mission of Carrs Lane Congregational Church. It has also served as an event centre, civic building and nightclub.

Over the last few weeks Evenii have been upgrading the Cupola, this involved installing the newly manufactured bespoke timbers, from new scrolls to a new pinnacle. Evenii supplied and installed a new Triflex coating system with guarantees, we also supplied and installed new lead cover flashings along with new lead details to the scrolls with copper wind restraint straps.

Callan’s success means he's one step closer to the prestigious SkillBuild National Final, where the top eight in the UK will go head-to-head.

Today our Atlanta Goyns got a hard-earned break from the admin and financial duties in the office.

Atlanta enjoyed a buddy-buddy site walk round on our project in Newcastle Quayside, she got to see first-hand what we do, and how it links to the office on paperwork, payments, and timings. Atlanta got to meet some of our sub-contractors and look at our site set up.

The project is running on time and budget, over the next two weeks we will be installing new glass screens, galvanised external emergency staircase and commissioning the air-conditioning units ready for the final snagging and carpet install.

A fantastic result for our Callan Stephenson Brown, Callan has come first place in the skill build qualifier competition in the Northeast. Callan beat off competition from Newcastle, Redcar and Optimum Skills colleges. Callan has a great future ahead of him and we are looking forward to the next rounds in Milton Keynes 🤞👏👏👏

One of our teams are currently undertaken roof repairs to St Cuthberts Church in Consett.
The works are to replace failed rafters with new pre-treated rafters. Followed on by the installation of new lead flashings, with copper wind straps and affixed with hall clips and lead buttons.
