We’ve got mail… and Santa’s asking quite a lot this year

A letter from the North Pole landed at Team Smarta with a request to help bring Christmas to children who might otherwise wake up with nothing to open.

So, on 3rd November, Kieran Dixon, Lee Jacques and Scott Birley will be taking on 99km from Leeds to LaplandUK Manchester, running a lot of it, walking, climbing and probably questioning their decisions somewhere along the way.

Kieran and Lee called in backup, and Scott answered. We hope they mentioned the 2am start before he agreed…

The rest of Team Smarta will join for around the final 25km, bringing fresh legs, encouragement and a very important supply of snacks.

We’re doing this for Cash for Kids North and West Yorkshire, raising money to help make sure more children have a present to open on Christmas morning.

We’re hiring up to 10 Business Development Executives to join Smarta Energy in Garforth, Leeds, starting January 2027.

Got at least a year’s sales experience? Comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations and chasing a target? We’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need an energy background, we’ll provide full industry training and support as you get going.

💰 Up to £30,000 basic salary + £75,000 OTE
📅 No weekends or bank holidays
🎄 An extended Christmas break
📈 Opportunities to move into senior sales and management

Our connection to Cash for Kids North and West Yorkshire starts with the people behind Smarta Energy.

An energy business and a children’s charity might not initially seem like an obvious match. But choosing a charity should go beyond how it fits a brand’s image. It should reflect what matters to its people, from directors and executives to colleagues across the whole business.

For us, helping children is something we can all connect with. Every one of us has been a child. Some of us have children of our own. We understand how much feeling safe, cared for and included can mean.

Cash for Kids supports children and young people from birth up to and including 18 who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or additional needs.

At Christmas, its Mission Christmas appeal helps children who might otherwise wake up without a present. When families are struggling to cover everyday essentials, your support can bring a child a moment of excitement, ease a parent’s worry and help create a happy memory.

Our ongoing relationship with the North & West Yorkshire team makes this even more personal. They feel like part of Team Smarta too. Their kindness, enthusiasm and commitment to local children make it easy for us to keep working together and getting behind the cause.

This year, that means fundraising, collecting gifts, volunteering and taking on our 99km Leeds to Lapland challenge, with Lee Jacques and Kieran Dixon making their way from our Leeds office to LaplandUK Manchester, walking, running and, by the end, maybe even crawling…!

We’re proud to support a cause that means something to our people and makes a difference in our community.

Lisa Benfield and Lilly Black were delighted to attend the club’s presentation night, joining players, families, friends and fellow sponsors to celebrate everyone’s achievements.

We’re growing our Leeds sales team and looking for Business Development Executives to join us in January 2027.

Based in Garforth, the role offers up to £30,000 basic salary, £75,000–£100,000 OTE and uncapped commission. You’ll also get full training, opportunities to progress, no weekends or bank holidays and an extended Christmas break.

You’ll need at least a year’s sales experience, confidence on the phone and the drive to hit your targets. We’ll teach you the energy side!

It’s official...

Smarta Steps Up, Leeds to Lapland!

Lee Jacques and Kieran Dixon are walking 99km from our Leeds office to Manchester for Cash for Kids North and West Yorkshire, Mission Christmas.

And with 25km to go, plenty of the Smarta team will be joining them to get it over the line. Apparently, a normal sponsored walk wasn’t enough…

It’s a crazy challenge for a brilliant cause, helping children experiencing hardship receive a gift this Christmas.

We’ve got lots coming over the next few weeks, sweepstakes, more fundraising and updates as the team gets ready. Keep an eye out and get involved!
