A recent job of ours. South West Surfacing Specialists came in to do the drop kerbs, permeable tarmac and soon to be finished with a resin surface.

We’ve had a great end to the week. The footings are in! The weather hasn’t been on our side this week, but we are ready for the block work to start on Monday. Steel reinforced concrete footing, ready for the retaining wall. The wall has been designed by a structural engineer and is just short of 900 blocks.

We’ve had a great start to the new year. The driveway job is coming along nicely. We’ve located all of the services entering the property so we can now safely commence digging for the foundation. We’re expecting to pour the concrete next week. We’ve had an onsite meeting with the surfacing company to discuss where the drop kerbs will be going. The customer has also decided to go with a permeable resin finish.

We head into the new year with a brand new project.
Here we are creating a new off road parking space and oil tank base.
Clearing of the site has commenced ready for the demolition of the existing wall, and the construction of a new foundation with a 1.8 meter high retaining wall. The area will then be backfilled to highway specifications, ready for the clients choice of finished surface and engineered safety barrier.

Something a bit different. I recently helped my wonderful wife Sian complete the installation of a tiled mural at Newquay Orchard. We installed a cts render backing board onto the the wood cladding to allow tiles made at a workshop hosted by Pottery & Posies. to be mounted on the wall of the heart and soul cafe

The end is in sight now on the bungalow build. We’ve got a few touch ups to do and then we’re moving to the hallway. We’re also starting on the customer’s conservatory this week.

It’s not just kitchens, bathrooms and interiors we can do. A total transformation of my own garden is underway. Lowering small grass area, trimming back overgrown bushes and relaying turf to give a 140% lager lawn. Even with the little Helpers we’ve managed to get a fair amount done in a weekend.

A couple of before and after installing cladco cement cladding and a new dry verge. We also installed 50mm pir insulation as there was no insulation on the timber framed gable end.
