2011 Vaxhuall Insignia 2.0 CDTi

Vehicle has issues with clutch pedal sticking down to the floor

Master cylinder replaced with SACHS and pressure bled system but still unable to achieve good clutch pedal.

Further investigation founds CSV (slave cylinder) had faulted

Also found inner spiket bearing had play on friction plate, had difficulty removing one of the pressure plate bolts due to it being rounded

Once removed Found DMF had too much free movement

New SACHS DMF, CSV (slave clyinder) & SACHS clutch kit fitted, had issue with clutch line breaking free from elbow actuator. New elbow actuator fitted and system bled again.

System pressure bleed multiple times to sustain positive pedal.

VW POLO 1.4TDi

Came in after MOT failure for rear suspension bushes being a major and advisory for being worn and causing excessive movement and also handbrake being inoperable on one side with only 7kgf present.

*Rear suspension bushes pressed out and new ones pressed in on both nearside and offside, fitted back subframe brackets. Few bolts snapped during this process so news made as replacements.
*Found handbrake cable to be a fault causing the failure of 7kgf on one side, new handbrake cable fitted and all adjusted correctly.

Car had a MOT retest the next day and passed with flying colours and no advisories.

Nissan Juke 2016 - 13/10/2024
Bit of a delay with this post due to personal issues and Facebook being hacked but all back and secure now 👍
Car came in for a miss fire, upon diagnostic with scanner found to have cylinder 4 missfire and camshaft position A bank 1 fault.
* after diagnostic performed replaced all 4 spark plug with IR NGK spark plugs and set gap to 0.45mm as nissan recommend, came with a preset gap of 0.65mm
* camshaft sensor fault still present and car still unhappy and having rough idle.
* looking on forums for this fault code many things can trigger this fault even down to low or dirty oil.
* Replaced oil and oil filter and reset service indicator and fault still present and rough idle
* Replaced bank 1 camshaft sensor and retaught new sensor and still flagging up same fault code. Sensor taken back under warranty and another new sensor tried and same process carried out. Issue still present and idle still rough.
* Replaced rear camshaft sensor and retaught and still same issue.
* Suspected VVT valves are fault which are either side of the timing chain for release of oil flow for the timing chain as fault code linked to these but carrying out process of elimination.

Recommended to customer to bring vechile back and performed a valve cleaner on the VVT valves to see if this clears the faulty, if this doesn't work then look at replacement but parts have to be obtained from dealer.

Unfortunately only half the issues fixed this time round, but hopefully can resolve.

VW Polo 1.4 TDi 2003 - 03/10/24
Car came back to have new handbrake cable fitted after part arrived and time to fit it.
It proved to be less than an easy job, Handle cable broke in the aluminum sleeving due to age of car and being exposed to the elements. This left part stuck in preventing the inside knuckle and cable to be pulled out.
After several attempts and methods it came out and was able to fit the new handbrake cable, adjusted correctly so now operating full hold on 4 clicks and releasing fully with no binding or sticking.
Road tested and tested handbrake on several hills and pulling away with clutch and handbrake held very well with no movement.
Check to make sure all releasing fully and all was good.

Vw Polo 1.4 TDI 2003 - 25/09/2024
Vehicle came in for handbrake adjustment as handbrake was extended fully and still unable to hold vehicle properly.
Upon further investigation found RHS rear to be locking on despite handbrake being off and wheels off ground.
Found RHS had been getting hot to the point the pad backing had melted to caliper piston.
Found pad shims only to be fitted to bottom of the pads and missing from the top.
Found slide pins to be severely lacking grease.
Managed to free brakes and working correctly.
Due to internal cable damage unable to get handbrake releasing 100%. Advised customer of handbrake cable needing to replaced but customer needs car for work commute.
Released handbrake so prevent it from sticking on and dragging pads on disc.
Awaiting new handbrake cable and when customer free to replace cable.
Up date to follow once cable replaced.

Peugeot 2008 1.2 - 26/09/2024
