We were out in Aintree Village recently giving a home’s central heating a much-needed boost before the winter months roll back around.

The customer wanted to replace their old, underperforming single panel radiators with modern, high-output compact double radiators to really get the house nice and warm.

Because the new radiators were a completely different size and much wider than the originals, this wasn't a simple straight swap. We had to level up the job:

We were called out to carry out an annual service on a Worcester Bosch Greenstar. To the untrained eye, this boiler looked like it was ticking along fine. But a proper, deep-level service is about stripping the unit down to find the hidden dangers before they become a costly or dangerous emergency. 🛑

During our Full Service, we uncovered a few critical issues that required immediate attention:

⚠️ The Big One – Splitting Gas Pipe: We found the internal gas supply pipe was beginning to split. Left unchecked, this is a major safety hazard that would have eventually caused a serious gas leak inside the casing. We swapped it out immediately for a brand-new, genuine replacement.

❌ Damaged Baffles: The old heat exchanger baffles (which help control heat transfer) were badly warped and damaged, restricting performance. New ones were fitted to restore maximum efficiency.

Today, we carried out a comprehensive annual service on this Worcester Bosch.

We were called out to a customer struggling with a an L2 Fault Code on their Ideal boiler. ❌

While an L2 is often just an ignition fail, a quick reset is rarely a permanent fix. After a thorough investigation, we found a combination of issues causing the lockout:

✅ Blocked Injector: Preventing the correct gas flow for ignition.
✅ Worn Probes & Electrodes: These were well beyond their best, causing the boiler to struggle to spark and sense the flame.
✅ Blocked Condensate Trap: A buildup of debris was preventing the boiler from draining properly, which eventually forces a shutdown.

The Fix:

1️⃣ Full deep clean of the condensate trap and injector.
