Specific examples include:
- "Dazed and Confused," which was originally written and recorded by Jake Holmes.
- "Whole Lotta Love," which borrowed lyrics and elements from Willie Dixon's blues.
- Songs influenced by Bert Jansch's folk guitar work, such as "Black Mountain Side" resembling Jansch's "Blackwaterside."

Led Zeppelin often settled some of these disputes out of court by paying royalties or giving songwriting credits later.
