🎨 Just wrapped up a rendering project featuring the iconic Glenfiddich 18-Year-Old bottle, and I wanted to share some insights into making glass and liquid shine. 🥃
When rendering glass, especially for premium products like wh***ey, lighting and caustics are everything. To capture that rich amber hue and the intricate details of the bottle, I focused on:
✨ Lighting Placement: Strategic light sources are key to revealing the texture of the glass, the label’s subtle embossing, and the depth of the wh***ey inside. I placed the main light at a slight angle to create those crisp reflections, while a softer fill light brought out the warmth of the liquid.
💡 Caustics: These are essential for realism in glass rendering. The way light passes through the wh***ey and refracts onto the surface beneath really adds that extra layer of authenticity. I used a mix of HDRI lighting and area lights to create soft, natural caustic effects that showcase the craftsmanship of the Glenfiddich bottle.
🚀 With the right setup, even the smallest details like condensation on the glass can bring a product rendering to life.
