CRC Sentinel is on the move.

After departing Wick, she’s heading round John o’ Groats and on to Scrabster, ready to begin her next project in the north of Scotland.

A great run in clear conditions and another example of the flexibility of our commercial vessels, supporting marine projects across the UK with crew transfer, survey support, safety cover and general workboat operations.

Our King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation was achieved by solving a real-world access problem.

CRC Walrus started with a simple question:
“How do we safely get people to work in places normal vessels can’t reach?”

That question led to years of design, testing, problem-solving and operational learning. The result is an amphibious crew transfer vessel built for demanding offshore wind environments, particularly tidal and shallow-water sites where access is rarely straightforward.

What makes this recognition so meaningful is that CRC Walrus is not innovation for the sake of it. She was developed to solve a practical problem: safer, more reliable access where conventional vessels are limited.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Commercial Rib Charter has received a King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for CRC Walrus.

Believed to be the world’s first amphibious crew transfer vessel built to full commercial standards for offshore wind operations, CRC Walrus was developed to provide safe and reliable access to turbines in tidal areas where conventional vessels are unable to operate.

Receiving the UK’s highest official business honour is a huge achievement for our team and fantastic recognition of the innovation, engineering and hard work behind the project.

A huge thank you to our clients, partners and crew who have supported the journey.

Always learning. Always improving.

Before heading out to support a project in the Netherlands, the CRC team recently completed boat transfer training with 3t Global. It’s a key skill for offshore and nearshore operations, ensuring safe, efficient movement between vessels in real working conditions.

After nearly 12 months working across the UK and Europe, CRC Vanguard returned to HQ last Tuesday.

It’s been all hands on deck since, carrying out essential planned maintenance before turning her straight back around. She’s now loaded up and en-route to France for a long-term project 🇫🇷

Big thanks to Jason Evans Crane Hire and Elvy International Marine & Heavy Haulage Ltd for the support.
