🚨 Project Secured 🚨

We’re delighted to have secured a new project at the Christie Pathology Centre in Withington, working alongside Renaker 👏

This latest award continues a long-standing and successful relationship with the Renaker team, having delivered a number of projects together over the years, including the recently completed One Port Street development in Manchester 🏙️

Our package will include both brickwork and scaffolding, with works comprising facing brickwork alongside the installation of cavity fire barriers, masonry support systems and brick soffit systems. In addition, we will be delivering the full external scaffold package throughout the project 🧱

With a 13-week programme, it’s great to be working with Renaker once again and building on the strong partnerships developed across previous schemes 🤝

A huge thank you to everyone involved in securing the project. We’re looking forward to getting started and delivering another successful scheme together 👊

10 years at McCrory for Bobby Jackson 👏

Since joining McCrory Brickwork in 2015, Bobby has played a huge role in the continued growth and success of the business.

Bringing with him more than a decade of experience from Laing O’Rourke, where he progressed from trainee to senior management positions, Bobby quickly became an important part of the McCrory journey. Over the years, he has built strong relationships with clients, colleagues and supply chain partners while successfully delivering complex masonry packages across a wide range of sectors, including residential, education, commercial, defence and leisure.

Throughout his time with the business, Bobby has helped deliver some of our most significant projects, including extensive works at Manchester Airport Terminal 2 and a number of major developments across Manchester and the wider North West.

More recently, Bobby has been at the forefront of some of the Brickwork Division’s largest and most demanding schemes. From leading our package at Shotton Paper Mill in Deeside, one of the biggest projects undertaken by the business, to his current role delivering works at the landmark Mayfield development in Manchester city centre, he continues to play a key role in the success of the division.

More than anything though, Bobby is someone people enjoy working with. His experience, calm approach and willingness to support those around him have earned him huge respect across the business and among our clients.

Ten years on, Bobby remains a hugely valued member of the McCrory team and an important part of where we're heading next.

Thank you for everything over the last decade Bobby. It's been some journey so far and there's plenty more to come 👏

A great project to be part of from start to finish 👏

Our work at Olive Primary School is now complete, the scaffold is down, and the finished building is looking fantastic.🤩

Over the course of a busy 25-week programme, our team delivered the external facing brickwork and internal blockwork package, helping bring the new school to life one brick at a time 🧱

It's always rewarding to stand back and see the finished result, particularly on a project that will have such a positive impact on the local community for years to come.

A big thank you to our site team and our partners at Galliford Try for another successful collaboration. We're proud of the quality delivered across the project and wish everyone involved the very best as the school prepares to welcome its future pupils.

A job well done all round 👏

When we arrived on site, the lift shafts were little more than a steel skeleton connected to the new footbridge and stair structures.
Fast forward to today and those structures have been transformed into fully enclosed architectural towers, clad in locally sourced natural sandstone to reflect the character and heritage of the surrounding area 🏗️

Working for BAM Nuttall as part of the wider Transpennine Route Upgrade, our team have completed the roofing works, drainage outlets, rainwater goods and electrical trunking installations, alongside the internal fit out of the lift equipment rooms to provide secure, fire-resistant spaces for the lift motors and associated services.

With internal decorations now complete, it's great to see the finished product emerging and another key element of the station upgrade nearing completion.

A quality job by everyone involved 🤝

Good to be up and running at Castle Hill Primary School 👏

The team have now got underway on site in Todmorden, with the first areas of blockwork progressing as we begin delivering our masonry package alongside Galliford Try.

This project follows on from our work at Olive Primary School, where a great relationship was built between both teams, so it's brilliant to be working together again so soon 💪

There's still a long way to go on this one, but it's always good to see the groundwork being laid and the first sections starting to take shape. Plenty of hard work ahead for the lads, but a strong start all round 👊

Looking forward to seeing this project develop over the coming months 📸

10 years at McCrory for Chris Fish 👏

Since joining the business in 2016, Chris has played a huge part in the journey we've been on over the last decade.

When Chris arrived, McCrory was already a successful and well respected brickwork contractor. Since then, he's been instrumental in helping establish and grow the Construction division into what it is today. What started as a new venture has gone on to deliver work on some of the biggest projects in the North West, including Manchester Town Hall, the Manchester Airport Terminal 2 Transformation Programme and, most recently, Therme Manchester.

Bringing with him 13 years of experience working on some of the UK's biggest construction projects, Chris has helped drive standards, strengthen relationships and create opportunities that have supported the continued growth of the business.

More than anything though, Chris has built a team around him. A lot of the success McCrory Construction has enjoyed over the last few years comes down to the people within it, and Chris has played a massive role in bringing that team together. He's always backed good people, give them opportunities and help them develop, which is a huge reason why the division has grown so quickly.

Ten years on, McCrory has continued to grow and evolve, and Chris has played a huge role in helping shape that journey.

Thanks for everything over the last decade Chris. It's been some journey so far and there's plenty more to come 👏

A great project to be finishing 👏

Our work at Millwood SEN School is now complete, with the extension fully taking shape and looking fantastic alongside the existing building.

Working alongside Kier, the team have delivered the masonry package to a high standard throughout, helping create a facility that will provide an important learning environment for young people in the local community.

It's always satisfying to look back at where a project started and compare it to the finished result, and this is definitely one the team can be proud of 💪

A big thank you to everyone involved. Another quality project delivered and another great example of what can be achieved through strong collaboration and attention to detail 📸

We’re proud to share that McCrory has been awarded the Social Value Award at this year’s Kier Construction Supply Chain Awards 👏

A massive thank you to our team, partners and everyone involved in helping us make a genuine impact within the communities we work in every day.

From apprenticeships and training opportunities to school engagement, charity support and creating long-term careers within construction, this is something we’re hugely passionate about as a business.

It was great to have Colin Jones there on the night to collect the award on behalf of the team 👏

It’s brilliant to see that work recognised by Kier and we’re looking forward to continuing to build on it 💙

10 years at McCrory Brickwork for Gerry Ahmed 👏

Since joining the business back in 2016, Gerry has become a huge part of the company and someone who has helped drive standards, relationships and the overall growth of McCrory over the last decade.

With nearly 50 years in the masonry industry, there’s not much Gerry hasn’t seen or dealt with over the years. From major city centre developments and high rise schemes to schools, prisons, MOD works and some of the biggest masonry projects in the country, the experience and knowledge he brings to the business every day is invaluable.

More than anything though, Gerry is someone who genuinely cares. Whether it’s helping clients solve problems, supporting site teams, developing apprentices or giving up his own time for social value initiatives, he throws himself into everything fully and always wants the best for the people around him.

Anyone who knows Gerry will also know there’s never much sitting still either… if something needs sorting, he’s already on it before most people have even realised there’s an issue 😂

A huge thank you Gerry for everything you’ve brought to the business over the last 10 years. A massive part of McCrory Brickwork and thoroughly deserved recognition 👏
