A "must see" factchecker from CarbonBrief about 16 of the most common myths about solar power...

☀️ Solar power is a hugely successful form of renewable energy that is widely expected to dominate the global electricity system in the coming years.

📈 The International Energy Agency (IEA) expects solar to be the world's largest power source by 2033, as the chart below shows.

🇬🇧 Growth has already been seen around the world, including the UK where solar farms and rooftops generated more electricity than ever before in the first five months of 2025, as the country enjoyed its sunniest spring on record.

🔋 In addition, solar generates electricity during the daytime – when demand is higher than at night. Combined with battery energy-storage systems, near-continuous solar power is now an economic and technological reality in sunny regions.
