🧡💜 MY FIRST WEEK BACK — AND WHAT A WEEK IT’S BEEN! 🧡💜
After taking some time away from work, this has been my first full week back… and I feel incredible. 🙌
And apparently I don’t understand the meaning of “ease yourself back into it” 😂
In ONE WEEK we have:
✅ Completed 1,000m² of DALTEX Dalplay rubber crumb at a Mental Health Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent
✅ Completed a 200m² resin bound installation in Ascot
✅ Completed a 600m² monster resin installation with BP Resin Driveways — 11 men, under 6 hours! 🤯
✅ Completely transformed a back garden with new fencing, artificial grass, resin and sleepers — ALL IN ONE DAY
✅ Completed 7 contract installations
✅ Somehow managed to get through 18 of my quotations 😂
✅ And we’ve now started another project in Manchester for our wonderful customer, Ste!
Safe to say… I’M BACK. 😂🧡💜
But this post isn’t really about the work.
It’s an appreciation post for some incredible people who have been there for me over the last few weeks.
Firstly, a MASSIVE thank you to everyone at DALTEX, especially Joe, Dan, Martin and Kiki. ❤️
A couple of weeks ago, I was in a very dark place and needed to take some time away. These guys were checking in with me DAILY.
Not asking about orders.
Not asking when I was coming back.
Not talking about resin.
Just asking:
“Jake, are you okay?”
“Is there anything we can do?”
“Is there anything you need?”
And when I returned for my first job, they even came down to site just to make sure I was alright.
That tells you everything you need to know about DALTEX.
They’re more than a supplier.
They don’t just see contractors as order numbers or customers. They’ve built a genuine community where people become friends and, in many ways, family.
That support meant more to me than they probably realise. ❤️
And then there’s my wife… 😂❤️
SHIREEN — YOU DESERVE A MEDAL. 🏅
People think running a resin company is stressful…
Try being married to the person running it. 😂😂
My phone starts going at 8am and somehow it’s still going at 4am.
Quotes.
Customers.
Installations.
Lads.
Materials.
Phone calls.
WhatsApps.
“Babe, where’s my keys?”
“Babe, have you seen my charger?”
“Babe, I’ve just booked another job.” 😂
The stress resin puts me through probably doesn’t come anywhere near the stress I PUT HER THROUGH! 🤣
So thank you for putting up with me, supporting me through the good days and the bad ones, and somehow still answering the phone when I ring. ❤️
And finally, THANK YOU TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS CHECKED IN ON ME.
The calls, WhatsApps, messages and people still reaching out today asking how I’m doing genuinely mean a lot.
WhatsApp is filling up by the hour at the moment with the demand for resin, so if I haven’t replied yet, I promise I’m trying to work through everybody! 🙏
Sometimes you don’t realise how many good people you have around you until life gets difficult.
This week has reminded me of that.
Tonight we’re finishing the week in true Next Level style…
My son has asked if we can go out together, so we’ll be LIVE ON TIKTOK tonight doing a couple of hours of leaflet distribution! 😂💜🧡
