Whilst The Ashes are keeping the nation gripped, it’s not the only high-stakes cricket catching the attention. The annual Slatter Group cricket event ‘The Bashes’ was held yesterday evening at the picturesque East Woodhay Cricket Club. An important event in the Group’s calendar, it is always a fun-filled and joyful occasion.
The event was a special evening with staff and their families enjoying socialising, playing and watching the cricket, a delicious BBQ and plenty of liquid refreshments to keep the players joints loose! After a highly competitive match with some questionable cricketing skills and, more importantly, some superb sledging the result was settled with a winning margin of just 6 runs. Congratulations to all the winners, commiserations to those in 2nd place and many thanks to East Woodhay CC for use of the venue. We’re already looking forward to next year’s rematch!
