That’s a wrap on 2025!

A big thank you to everyone who’s supported Lee Ashworth Excavations LTD this year — clients, suppliers and the team on the ground. We couldn’t do it without you.

We’ll be closing from dinner time today (23/12/25) and reopening on 05/01/26.

There will also be a donation bucket at the trailer, with all proceeds going to Pendleside Hospice.

JOB TITLE: Senior Contract Manager
REPORTS TO: Managing Director
1. Purpose of Post
To support the asbestos removal division by ensuring that company systems, procedures, and legislative requirements are being implemented. Assist in helping the company continue to be recognised
as a leading supplier of asbestos removal and associated services.
2. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Be part of a specialised management team of asbestos removal personnel, working with varied clients and carrying out expert and safe removal of asbestos-containing materials in strict accordance with the company safety and removal systems and procedures, whilst maintaining and working in line with legislative requirements and best practice.

• The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
• Asbestos The Licensed Contractors Guide
• Asbestos Licensing
• ASB 5 Notifications
• Build rapport with new and existing clients; handling complaints as required to include best practice and changes to process as a result, if required
• Provide quotations for work
• Completing pre-liminary site assessments and pre-start meetings
• Plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the works safely, to the quality required and in a timely manner
• Ensure site team compliance with Company policies and procedures
• Implement the risk management process, review risk register and check risk controls
• Preparation of Notifications, plan of works, method statements, risk assessments and other documentation
• Liaise with the SHEQ department and by example, set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legal obligations
• Allocate HS&E responsibilities and duties for site personnel, check understanding and provide training as necessary
• Maintain and manage sites and subcontractors, ensuring all subcontractors follow the company’s procedures and processes
• Oversee and ensure that HS&E-related documents are kept up to date and undertake senior manager site inspections, ensuring that audits and reports are produced, non-conformances are resolved, and all parties are kept informed
• Annual Asbestos Refresher Training
• Continued Personnel Development
• Chair and attend Safety Briefings/meetings when required.
• Liaise with ARCA as part of our membership including AGM's and regular regional meetings.
3. Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the asbestos removal industry.
• Valid ARCA/UKAS Contract Managers training qualifications preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of asbestos regulations and HSE guidance (HSG248, CAR 2012).
• Strong project management, budgeting, and client liaison skills.
• Full UK driving license.
