Throwback to a fantastic project at Woburn Safari Park! 🦁🏗️

A little to this project from 2020, when we were proud to work alongside RPL Construction and Simon Denness Architecture at Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire.

Gibbs Timber Frame manufactured and supplied the timber frame & steel superstructure, helping take the project from architectural drawings, through construction, to the fantastic finished buildings.

It’s great to look back at projects like this and see the results of Island businesses working together on projects across the UK.

🔩 Steelwork by Gibbs Timber Frame

A look back at just a few of the steelwork projects we’ve delivered over recent years — from structural steel integrated within timber frame construction, through to larger steel-framed buildings and bespoke structural solutions.
While timber frame is at the heart of what we do, our capabilities extend well beyond timber. Gibbs Timber Frame can supply and deliver structural steelwork as part of the complete building package, helping our customers coordinate timber and steel through one experienced team.

The projects pictured show the variety of steelwork we work with — including structural beams and columns, complex supporting steelwork, galvanised external structures and substantial steel-framed buildings.

Quality steelwork also relies on a strong supply chain. We’re pleased to work with BM Steel, who supply steel for our projects, and Wessex Galvanizers, who provide hot-dip galvanizing to give exposed steelwork durable, long-term corrosion protection. BM Steel supplies a wide range of structural sections, while Wessex Galvanizers carries out hot-dip galvanizing to EN ISO 1461.

A great throwback to February 2025, when The Construction Index captured our team in action on the Isle of Wight – constructing a complete timber frame superstructure in just one day.

Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to still be playing our part on this development as the site continues to progress and deliver high-quality new homes.

It’s been a pleasure working alongside Captiva Homes, whose commitment to quality has recently been recognised with a Premier Guarantee Excellence Award – a fantastic achievement and well deserved.

For us, this project is a great example of what timber frame construction does best: combining speed and efficiency on site with the precision and quality needed to deliver homes built for the future.

Great to look back at where it started – and even better to see how far the development has come.

🏗️ PROJECT COMPLETE | CELLECTA HEAD OFFICE, ROCHESTER

Gibbs Timber Frame are proud to have supplied and installed the timber frame package as part of the redevelopment of Cellecta’s Head Office in Rochester, working alongside Fry Investments to help transform the existing premises.
Our works formed part of an extensive office refurbishment and extension, bringing new construction together with the existing building to create upgraded office facilities and additional warehouse space.

Our package included:
🔨 Supply and installation of the pre-insulated timber frame
🏗️ Installation of associated structural steelwork
🪵 Supply and installation of the floor joist system
🏢 Timber frame construction carefully integrated with the existing structure
🔧 Supply and installation of the flat roof materials

The finished building is a fantastic transformation, and we're delighted to have played our part in delivering it.

A great example of timber frame being used to extend and modernise an existing commercial building while working around the retained structure.

A big thank you to Fry Investments for the opportunity to work alongside them on this project.
