Celtic Heat

The cold snap is here!
Please test your boiler and make sure it’s working 🙏
Don’t get caught out and end up with no heat or hot water during our busiest times.

Why should you get your boiler serviced?
With the cold drawing in, now is the perfect time to make sure your system is running smoothly ahead of the winter.

Well… What an adventure that turned out to be! 😅
Thank you to all of my wonderfully patient customers. I’m finally home and ready to jump back to work (swap jump for a mild limp perhaps…)
My availability is good currently but is being booked up as I type this, though I will prioritise my existing family of customers first.

For those wondering what this is all about:
My 3 week rally around the India and the Himalayas in a Rickshaw 🛺 turned into a saga worthwhile of a film crew. We went viral across India to millions, crossed the most dangerous mountain pass in the world for the first time ever in a rickshaw (the most inappropriate vehicle!) but it all ended in tears as my co-driver rolled it on a corner and crushed my foot.
Repatriation including a 19 hour taxi ride, emergency surgery in London and 5 weeks of rehab. Then wham bam thank you mam I’m back in Newquay.

ALL BUSINESS TEMPORARILY PAUSED.
With all adventure comes risk, and in my case that took the form of a very nasty crash in the Himalayas a week ago.
I flew back to the UK for emergency surgery and am now playing the waiting and healing game in a London hospital.
I have messaged my existing clients that have work booked in but I won’t be taking on future work for another 4-6 weeks at least.
Thanks for all of your kind words already and I’ll be back at the boilers in no time!
I’m Cornish, I’m strong! Farmer tough 💪

Top tip
DO NOT GO THROUGH AN AGENCY!
They’ll most likely be the first Google result.

I’ve just done a job for an agency who have charged the customer twice my rate for answering the phone and arranging the job. 😯

If I’m busy and can’t get to you in an emergency then I will happily recommend fellow great gas engineers.
Please don’t fall victim to call centre agencies!

Stay frosty out there people!
Coming from a very awkward and hot 🥵 boiler install 😂

Now offering LPG services and installs.
It wasn't fun but it's done now!
Thanks to the team at South West Assessment and Training as always.

We live in a salty environment. Whilst it's often delightful, the waves and the sea air, it can also bring complications. Like this boiler on the Gannel.
This boiler is serviced every year, so you can see how crucial it is to keep it clean and free of damaging salt deposits. This time I stripped, refurbished and rebuilt the fan to get it working again as it had failed. The boiler has been thoroughly cleaned and back in working order again.
It's quite nerdy but this was a very satisfying job to work on.

Keep on top of your services to avoid costly breakdowns and loss of heating and hot water and to help avoid long lasting damage. Get in touch now to book yours.

This is not work related but is definitely worth mentioning.
A while back the kids had a great birthday party paintballing at On Target Outdoor Newquay.
There were lots of laughs, especially when I dressed up as a pink bunny and ran around the arena unarmed trying (failing miserably) to dodge the barrage of paintballs. 💪 😂 😅
I spent the next hour taking them all out to balance the odds a lttle. 😂
The guys running it provided a great experience and we'll definitely be back!
Highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different.
