According to Checkatrade, the average air source heat pump service will cost somewhere between £150 and £300 (19 Nov 2024).

I (Pete Hooton) charge £125 (no VAT) for a full ASHP service. How so, I hear you ask? I'm a small outfit; in fact it's just me & my tools so I can control my overheads.

All the big boys - British Gas, Octopus, EDF, etc are now coming into the heat pump market & advertising the BUS £7.5 grant.

Q: So why would you use a little company based here in Cornwall over the might of a big PLC?

A: The major advantage is that I am here, just up the road & at the end of a telephone. You won't have to press 2 on the switchboard and then wait for 30 minutes to speak to somebody who knows absolutely nothing about ASHP's. And then get an engineer visit in 4 weeks time.

Ground floor underfloor heating set up in my own self build house Connected to a Mitsubishi Ecodan 8kW air source heat pump.

I am always happy to advise and help out with your own self build project. I am able to do heat loss calculations and heat pump sizing. Plus being MCS certified, get your £7.5k BUS grant.

Air Source Heat Pump servicing: £125 (recommended annually, for your warranty and to make sure your ASHP is running efficiently). Including cylinder & central heating/DHW system £190.

If your ASHP was installed prior to April 2022, annual servicing is a condition of the RHI scheme.
