Today is Global Lifting Awareness Day 2026, with this year's campaign theme, 'Not all lifting equipment is created equal', highlighting the importance of clearly describing lifting equipment to help procurement professionals make informed purchasing decisions

The theme responds to the long-standing challenge of inconsistent product descriptions across the industry. With manufacturers using a wide range of terminology, it can be difficult for procurement professionals to distinguish between equipment designed for demanding operational use and products intended for occasional use.

The decisions made at the point of purchase can have a significant impact on the safety and success of a lifting operation. That's why LEEA is encouraging buyers and procurement professionals to ask another question before making a purchase.

Find out more and follow the campaign throughout the day on LEEA - The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association's official page!

Last week, colleagues from across our workshop, office and machine shop came together for a summer BBQ, finishing early on Friday for an afternoon of food, games and time together as a team!

With the team continuing to grow this year, it was a great opportunity for colleagues from across the business to catch up and spend some time together outside of the usual working environment.

Thank you to everyone who helped organise the afternoon, and to all who came along and made it such an enjoyable way to head into the weekend!

Real-Time Load Data for Safe Lifting Operations

DLM’s Telemetry Shackle Load Cells provide end users with real-time load monitoring data, ensuring full load visibility at all times. This helps protect people and essential equipment by ensuring adherence to safe working load limits and compliance at all times.

See our TS-3.0 Telemetry Shackle Load Cells in action below, delivering real-time load data on a shipping container lift during a training day in Las Vegas, captured in a photo shared by our North American distributor, Chant Engineering Co., Inc.⬇️

Load monitoring plays a key role in supporting subsea and offshore applications, yet limitations in logging speed, storage, and positional measurement have historically made it difficult to capture the long-term data needed to assess how assets respond to changing sea conditions.

This can leave equipment more exposed to overload, increase the risk of unplanned downtime, and make it harder to meet strict regulatory compliance requirements.

To address these limitations, we developed the Subsea Data Logger DL-3.0 to capture and store high-quality offshore performance data via subsea load cells.

With up to 800 Hz sampling, peak loads and fast transients can be identified, while 16 Gb onboard storage supports extended monitoring. Combined with USB transfer and CSV export for simple data access, the DL-3.0 provides an ideal load monitoring solution for capturing reliable long-term data and assessing subsea and offshore asset performance in real-world conditions.
