Last week INKY went live with its first Founding Artist.

Building software is full of bugs, tweaks and late nights, but messages like this make it all worth it.

This morning I received this message.

Thank you, Matt, for trusting me and helping shape INKY into something that genuinely helps tattoo artists.

Every tattoo artist knows the feeling.

You’re halfway through a session…

Your phone vibrates.

Another Instagram enquiry.

By the end of the day there are 15 unread messages waiting for you.

INKY isn’t here to replace the conversation.

It’s here to handle the repetitive first stage so you can focus on the client sitting in front of you.

Less time managing DMs.

More time tattooing.

What part of managing enquiries takes up the most time in your day?

AI shouldn’t replace the artist!

Neither should INKY.

Tattooing is personal.

Every design.
Every consultation.
Every creative decision.
Every quote.

Those should always belong to the artist.

INKY simply helps with the repetitive conversations that happen before those decisions are made.

That’s why we built it. Not to replace artists. To give them more time to tattoo.

Less Noise. More Control.

The problem isn’t answering messages.

It’s stopping what you’re doing every few minutes to answer the same questions again and again.

Every interruption breaks your focus.

Every repetitive conversation takes time away from the client already sitting in your chair.

That’s why I built INKY.

Not to replace tattoo artists.

Just to handle the repetitive admin that fills your inbox every day.

Less Noise. More Control.

Yesterday was INKY’s first full day helping a real tattoo artist.

Within hours it had handled multiple customer enquiries, gathered reference images, organised the important details, and handed everything back with a summary ready for review.

The feedback that stuck with me most wasn’t about AI.
It was:

“I can just glance at the notifications knowing it’s getting replied to, and I can jump in as and when I want.”

That’s exactly why I built INKY.

Less noise. More control.

Today marks a huge milestone for INKY.

After months of building, testing and refining, INKY is now officially live.

Today our first Founding Artist went live, and within the first few hours INKY handled its first real tattoo enquiry, gathering the information, generating a summary and notifying the artist automatically.

This is exactly what INKY was built for.

A huge thank you to our Founding Artists for trusting us and helping shape the future of INKY.

Every day, tattoo artists spend hours answering the same questions.

“How much is a sleeve?”
“When are you free?”
“Can I send you some reference photos?”
“Where are you based?”

None of those messages are bad. They’re just repetitive.

That’s exactly why we’re building INKY.

An intelligent enquiry assistant that gathers everything you need, so you can spend more time creating tattoos and less time repeating yourself.

Less Noise. More Tattooing.

What Tattoo Artists Told Us #1

“It’s like drawing blood from a stone.”

This came from a tattoo artist describing the process of gathering information from potential clients.

The challenge isn’t always getting enquiries.

It’s getting the details needed to properly review them.

Reference images.
Placement.
Sizing.
Timescales.

Sometimes that information arrives immediately.

Sometimes it takes ten messages.

This is the first in a series of real comments from tattoo artists I’ve spoken with while building INKY.

One thing I’ve learned from speaking with tattoo artists over the last few weeks:

The goal isn’t to remove the conversation.

It’s to start the conversation with better information.

Most artists don’t want clients filling out a cold booking form.

They want to know the basics:
• What the client wants
• Where they want it
• Approximate size
• Any reference images

The conversation still matters.

The relationship still matters.

The artist still decides what work they take on.

Better information simply means less time chasing details and more time focusing on the work itself.

Less Noise. More Control.
