Keeping it in the family!

It was a cause for double celebration at the Family Business United Annual Awards 2026 in London last night.

Not only did our Managing Director, Rebecca Bell, accept the 'People's Choice Award for Scotland', but Spectrum was also named as a runner-up in the 'Family Business of the Year for Scotland' category.

We were also thrilled to celebrate our success alongside that of our valued client, The Malcolm Group. Between us, we really kept it in the family; Andrew Malcolm accepted the award for 'Family Business of the Year for Scotland', and the runner-up award for the 'People's Choice Award for Scotland'.

After a busy day yesterday preparing for what was a fantastic Take That concert at Barclays Hampden, our events team were quickly into action to clear up and prepare for tonight's concert. It may be hard work, but the performance, atmosphere and engagement with the concert-goers make it all worthwhile.

We're almost ready for tonight's show, if you're coming along you are in for a treat!

It's been a busy, but very rewarding day for our events team in Aberdeen. Today was The Kiltwalk, an event we're delighted to support each year. Our team always enjoy this family event; it's 'fun with a purpose'. Congratulations to everyone who took part. The funds you raise make a massive difference to the charities you support.

Teamwork doesn't just happen on the pitch at Barclays Hampden. Yesterday, we watched the Scottish International Men's team win their final game in Scotland before jetting off to the FIFA World Cup. It was a genuinely fantastic atmosphere as the large crowd partied and wished the team well for the tournament. As the supporters dispersed to continue their celebrations, the Spectrum team fired into action to prepare the stadium for today's Women's Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Final.

Preparing the stadium is a massive operation, but preparing it for two events on consecutive days takes an extra-special team effort.

Barclays Hampden is looking fantastic again today, ahead of the Cup Final between Rangers and Celtic. We wish both teams well and hope their respective supporters have a great day.

And of course, we wish the Scottish Men's team well as they begin their World Cup adventure.

It's a big day at Barclays Hampden today. It's the last warm-up game in Scotland for the Scotland Men's World Cup squad, and the final chance to cheer on the national team before they depart for the FIFA World Cup finals. We've been working hard to prepare the stadium ahead of the 1pm kick-off.

Today, Scotland takes on the Curaçao national team. Curaçao are also off to the World Cup, where they will face Germany, Ivory Coast and Ecuador in their Group E games.

Best wishes to the entire Scottish team from the Spectrum team. We hope you have a fantastic campaign.

Management Today names our Managing Director in its prestigious annual awards.

Our news stories tend to focus on contract wins, services, and celebrating our fantastic team through our Employees of the Month posts. However, we are delighted to celebrate our Managing Director, Rebecca Bell, today. Rebecca has been named as a Winner in Management Today’s 35 Women Under 35 awards.

For more than 25 years, Management Today has championed women in leadership through its prestigious annual list. This year's winners come from across the business world, from lawtech to education. Every year, the winning cohorts are celebrated for achieving extraordinary things so far, and for what is still to come!

Rebecca recently attended a photoshoot in Knightsbridge, where she met the other 34 inspiring women chosen in 2026.

Management Today has now published the details of the 35 winners, including a summary of what each has done and why they inspired the judging panel. Here’s what they had to say about Rebecca:

In the last 12 months, Bell has reset Spectrum’s strategic direction with a clear focus on sustainable growth, operational excellence and people-centred leadership. Under her stewardship, the business has delivered strong commercial results, including key contract extensions, new business wins and a healthy forward pipeline supporting ambitious growth projections for 2026.

Spectrum has also received significant external recognition, including ROCCO awards for ‘Environmental Sustainability’ and ‘Outstanding Performing Business’, and finalist status in the Northern Star Business Awards.

Beyond her role within Spectrum, Bell sits on the board of Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, working collaboratively with fellow business leaders to support local enterprise, skills development and positive outcomes for the wider community.

Speaking about the award, Spectrum’s Commercial Director, Cara Duff said:

“We are all delighted to celebrate Rebecca’s success. Normally, it’s Rebecca who champions the team's work, so it’s great to be able to talk about her. Rebecca’s leadership and her focus on the people in the business have been suitably rewarded by being named alongside some of the best talent under 35 in the UK.

Since assuming the role of Managing Director, Rebecca has developed and overseen the implementation of our new strategy, which focuses on creating an environment where people can flourish; her drive and commitment are paying dividends through continued growth and exceptional service delivery.

“I know I speak for the entire team at Spectrum when I say congratulations, we are delighted about the well-deserved recognition to be named in such a prestigious annual award.”
