It's great to see that the exceptionally busy events season hasn't dampened the enthusiasm of our team at Spectrum. Tonight, rather than working at an event, we're taking part! It's the Cancer Research UK Shine Night Walk, and we have around 20 of the Spectrum Team taking part. We're teaming up with walkers from some of our client companies in what should be an enjoyable evening of fun and fundraising.

It's the final concert in the DF Entertainment Edinburgh Summer Sessions tonight, and what a way to finish, with The Prodigy. While it is hard work, our events team has enjoyed seeing some global names perform over the past few days at the Royal Highland Centre. It's great to see so many people taking part in Kiltwalk Dundee today. Whether you're taking part in The Wee Wander or The Mighty Stride, your efforts are raising vital funds for hundreds of charities across Scotland. Well done to everyone. Our events team is on hand as usual; this is one the entire team enjoy because they always get great interaction with the walkers. If you see any of the team, be sure to say hello!

It may look peaceful and calm right now, but it's about to get much busier and much louder!

It's the first day of the World Pipe Band Championships at Glasgow Green. Our events team have been working hard in preparation for the gates opening and the pipers arriving. Delivering on a global stage doesn’t just happen!

We are delighted to be providing a range of services at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow; it seems no time at all since we worked at the same event in 2014.

Large-scale, multi-venue events are not new to Spectrum; we’ve provided our services at many global sporting events over the years. So, you’d think preparations for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow would be fairly straightforward given the years of experience and the volume of events we’ve covered. Not so. Every event is different, and requires meticulous planning that starts long before the first starting pistol is fired.

We deliver bespoke solutions for every event and at every venue. We have to consider the requirements of each area; for example, requirements in hospitality areas differ from those in competitors' spaces, and members of the Press have different needs from the public areas, but all must be maintained at all times. We also have to factor in the competition scheduling, especially with global televised events. Many venues have more than one session, so we need to prepare for each as they happen.

So, yes, we have unrivalled experience in Event Cleaning, but that certainly doesn’t mean we turn up and roll out a pre-existing model. We are involved in planning meetings for months before. A significant contribution to Spectrum’s success over the years is due to the expertise our experienced team bring to each event, but service delivery is invariably how we are measured; that’s why we spend so much time training our teams specifically for the event.

We have recently completed our induction and training for the Commonwealth Games so that every member of our team knows what is expected of them at each venue. The training is not only about instructing the team on specific duties and responsibilities, but also about building relationships with one another and truly becoming a team that supports one another when the pressure is on. It’s about reinforcing the Spectrum values and culture, ensuring every person is confident in what they are doing, has the tools and support to thrive in a pressured environment, and enjoys the experience of playing their part in a global sporting event.

It's that time again, it's The Glasgow Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park, and our event team members are delighted to be back providing cleaning services across the venue. It's going to be a busy period. Today, we kick off with State Fayre, headlined by The Lumineers, and featuring The Proclaimers, Dylan Gossett, KT Tunstall, The Saw Doctors, Avery Anna, Buffalo Traffic Jam and many others.

Tomorrow evening it's Teddy Swims, then on Tuesday (30th) it's Alanis Morissette, on Wednesday (1st July), we have Pitbull, and rounding off a busy week will be Kings Of Leon on Friday (3rd July).

It's a lot of work with so many events in a single location over a short period of time, but Summer Sessions is always a favourite among our team members; there are always great acts, fantastic music-loving crowds, and a genuine party atmosphere. If you are coming along, you are in for a treat!

The Spectrum events team members are not the only ones who have been very busy at Barclays Hampden Stadium this week. Just look at the preparation that's been underway to prepare for tonight's Metallica concert. We'll be doing the finishing touches throughout the day, ready to welcome the thousands of fans this evening. The weather is great too, so it should be a memorable night!
