It's been a long time since this page was updated.
Last year I underwent heart surgery to replace a defective valve,so was unable to be at Geevor for many months, but when I returned,on light duties to start with it was time to move some of our projects along, the very old hand crane that came from the local coop premises, has been put together, temporarily, to check correct fitments,it will need to be dismantled again some components need to be straightened, they will be going off to our local fabricators very soon.
As well as demonstrating our operating mucker all summer,we have made great progress on mucker 2,control valves and pipe work is progressing well ,new chain pins have been made by the lads next door, thanks ash,so that is now ready to go,hope no 2,will be in action next year.

It is with great sadness that we learned today of the death of one of our fellow volunteers, Ron Flaxman,Ron was a true gentleman, and was instrumental in the restoration of our locomotives here at Geevor, his expertise and knowledge was vast,he will be very much missed, rest in peace Ron.
After what seems to have been weeks of illness among the team,we finally had a good day catching up on various jobs, our priority, was to gloss mucker no 4 it has been placed under the victory shaft headgear,so is very much on show,we have nearly completed its gloss coat, when finished we will paint mucker 12 which is also under the headgear,we have a lot of projects planned for the summer, the hand crane,is ready to be reassembled, overhaul of the explosives wagon, restoring another tub,and finally finnishing our second eimco mucker,to working order.

After many weeks out of service with fuel problems on our compressor,i finally had the time to sort it out, perished fuel lines, and blocked filters, and a choked fuel tank pick up filter were the culprits, a good bleed of the system, and now it runs as sweet as a nut, video clip of first startup.

Hi.
Its been a long time since the last update, massive health problems,to myself, injuries and other problems, meant that we only got back to Geevor a month ago,so lots to do to catch up.
First job, fire up the compressor and wake the mucker up from its long slumbers, workshop clear up and lots of tidying up of the wagon shop to use it as our flammable store, for paint, gas and oils.
Michael continued his marathon job on the cone crusher,he has at last got some primer on,Josh painted the old oil storage cabinet, all of the display muckers have received some attention, and the display area had had a good clear up.
With a problem to the compressor we were unable to run the mucker demonstrations this week, should be sorted next week.

Great progress on the tub rebuild, this has been ongoing for quite a while, the chassis has been replaced, the overhauled wheelsets have been fitted,as well as the end plates, the locking brackets still need to be fitted, then we can drop in the tub.
Our hand crane is
Now a kit of parts in the workshop, some careful thought is needed as to how far to carry out repairs, there are lots of very old repairs on the crane, which i would like to preserve, but some cracks will need welding, and the main frame needs careful straightening.
The victory shaft headgear scaffolding is slowly being taken down, it will look very smart when fully revealed.
It was so good to see Geevor legend Eddie, who has had seemingly unending medical problems, lets hope he will be back at Geevor soon.
