Team GES Takes on Forest Facility Adventure Centre 💪🌳

Our latest Team Away Day definitely pushed us out of our comfort zones… and straight into the forest 😅

🪜 We kicked things off with an underground escape room (yes… locked in a bunker 😳), where there was plenty of searching… and even more screaming, mainly thanks to the biggest spiders we’ve ever seen 🕷️😂

🧗‍♂️ Then it was time to take on the assault course! Formerly home to the legendary Rat Race Dirty Weekend, the course spans over 4km with 60+ obstacles and definitely lived up to its reputation… safe to say there was a whole lot of mud, teamwork and determination. We survived and made it round (just about), AND with 0 injuries 🙌

It was a brilliant day full of laughs, chaos and definitely a few moments of “why did we sign up for this?” 😅

These days are always a great chance to step away from the office, challenge ourselves, and spend time together as a team 💚 A big well done to the entire team for getting stuck in and giving it a go, that’s what it’s all about!

There was lots of pizza, team activities, a treasure hunt, and plenty of laughs along the way! 🍕🪙🧭🥳

A huge shoutout to our amazing billing team - Zoe and Freddie 👏💚

Between them, they’ve saved our voids partners an incredible:
💰 £64,668.11 across Dec/Jan/Feb 25
💰 £53,789.86 across Mar/Apr/May 25

What makes their work so vital is the attention to detail behind the scenes. Our billing process is unique. The team reviews every single meter reading from every single void property, ensuring accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and preventing unnecessary costs from slipping through the net.

They also consolidate these bills, meaning our partners don’t have to manage and pay for their void properties individually, saving both time and effort as well as money.

It’s meticulous work, but it makes a real difference to housing providers managing large void portfolios! 🏡

Andrew and Mike were down in London on Friday visiting one of our largest housing partners. 🏡

🤝 Face-to-face meetings mean quality time working through processes, challenges and opportunities together.

In voids, the detail really matters. How properties are flagged. When meter reads are taken. Whether long term voids are being billed correctly. On paper it can all look straightforward, but when you sit down together and walk through it, property by property; that’s where the opportunities lie to make the most of potential time and cost savings. 💰⏰

It’s also where we can spot the small tweaks that make a big difference. Less rent loss. Fewer billing issues. More standing charge savings. And ultimately, less pressure on already stretched housing teams!

We are big believers that building strong partnerships comes from a variety communication methods. Sometimes you need to be in the room, understanding exactly how individual clients work in order to maximise efficiency and streamline operations.

Our team has been out and about completing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for landlords, homeowners, and estate agents, helping properties get market-ready without delay.

We pride ourselves on being friendly, approachable, and easy to work with, always focused on delivering a smooth, professional service from start to finish. A big thank you to Gemma Brown Coaching for coming in to speak to our team yesterday, following a really successful session with us back in October.

As a small team working across multiple service areas, we often ask ourselves how we can be the best possible team for our partners and for each other. Gemma delivered a brilliant session on the power of coaching, exploring how active listening and coaching one another helps us get the best out of our team and support each other to find solutions! 💪

The session also gave us the chance to step back and reflect on how we listen day to day, creating space for more meaningful conversations and stronger collaboration across the team.
