Another 2 storey extension started in Plympton, charging ahead and making most of the dry weather. We've been looking forward to this one for a while.

Always great when you can work from detailed drawings, from great architects and engineers, led by a very engaged client with a clear vision.

An awful lot to do, but the transformation will be fantastic.

Well after a pretty rotten year for so many, i think we are not alone in looking forward to much better times ahead heading into 2021.

It must be said though that despite all this year has thrown at us, our families and our business as a whole, we have at least been fortunate to come out the other side relatively unscathed. The ONLY reason though is through the continued support from our customers new and old, many of which we have worked with several times now, which is amazing (i guess we must be doing something right 🙂).

We have managed to complete on several projects this year (photos to follow) in very difficult circumstances, while keeping both customers and staff safe, which is always our top priority. We also have some really nice projects booked in for 2021 so it's great to have a positive start and something to look forward to for the new year.

Thanks again for all your continued support, likes, shares and recommendations. It really does make a huge difference to us as a local family run business. Without that we just wouldn't be able to continue doing what we enjoy so much, and we are as always incredibly grateful.

Despite our desire to keep on moving forward and trying to overcome the difficulties facing us regarding working around others, it has become acutely apparent with how serious things have become, that it just won't work and it's not right to do so. As such, it is with a heavy heart that from today we are packing up our tools until the foreseeable future.

The health and safety of our customers, our team, our families at home and the wider community we work in is paramount and this must come first before anything else.

Hopefully we can ride this out and look forward to picking up where we left off in due course.

As a company that spends a huge amount of time in people's homes, we understand that given the current crisis, that this cannot continue in the same way that is has done before for the safety of our clients, ourselves and our families. That being said, please remember that we can still do those jobs you've been wanting to get done outside, whether that be a new patio, that broken fence replacing, your house rendering/repainting etc... etc... without entering your home or coming into direct contact with you or your family.
Please consider us for any of your potential outside jobs you may have as we would be more than happy to help. There are some difficult times ahead so we really value your continued support as always.

Please take a look at a job started and completed this week by 2 of our team. New fascias, soffits, gutters and downpipes. All done without any direct contact with the family who live there. Another happy customer and another improved home thanks to our team.

It's that time of year again when we down our tools and spend some well earned and important time with our families and friends. We at Williams Building Contractors would like to thank all of those who have trusted us once again to work in their homes and take on their important projects throughout 2019 and into 2020. Yealmslea - Newton Ferrers
Another large scale project still ongoing, and only across the road from our other site. The old run down bungalow is unrecognisable now, having being made considerably larger, including the addition of an open plan second floor. This project includes some really cutting edge building processes and materials, and is being built to extremely high specifications. It will also be the most eco friendly project we have undertaken to date.

Riverslea - Newton Ferrers.
Our biggest, most complex job to date. Situated on the steep hillside overlooking the river Yealm, this site was challenging from the start because of its location. However, the results are incredible. What was once an old run down 2 up 2 down cottage, is now a 6 bed, 4 bath, 1 wc spacious house with some really quite special open spaces and views of the river.

Ivybridge Renovation - Child's 2 story bedroom/playroom.
On this job we converted a large, but very cold and damp rear room into an amazing childs bedroom, with a mezzanine floor, built in secret cupboards, drawers, bunk bed with shelving, and oak and glass staircase with more storage underneath. Feedback from the client is it's now the warmest room in the house, and we've since been invited back to do more improvements to the rest of the house.
