A little rewire and replacement inverter with the added solar iboost. The solar iboost is a option many people who don't want to outlay on a retrofit battery system opt for. Is inexpensive and diverts the excess energy from going out the front door into the emmersion creating "free" hot water. Nice little bonus which depending on the size system you have can be surprisingly effective.

When someone wonders why there roof is leaking???

A roofing companies asked me to take a look at a solar installation that is leaking! As you can see there are many reason why it's leaking. And we've now got to put the install right. Unfortunately the company that did this install has gone into liquidation...

Another P for plenty installation, 13 x trina 455 panels, 5kwh Givenergy inverter and 9.5kwh Givenergy battery. This is the second install for the same customer! We did the solar on their previous property and within 4 week of moving into their new property they've had another great system installed. Speak volumes having recommendations but it's especially nice when they want you back to do another install on their new home.

Another installation that hasn't worked properly for 2 years! Another company that went into liquidation when the call backs grew out of controll or at least it seems that way!

The list the customer gave me to rectify was long, from dc cable unprotected flopping around (and I mean flopping) unprotected over the gable end. Less than the mandatory amount of roof hooks to support the array, shading from a flue bringing the string down on sunny days etc it goes on and on.

Anyway, 2 days after the remedial work rectify the wrong doings, in December! I got a message to say that the array had just outdone the output he'd had in 2 years!!! as in peak performance.

At least we've restored his faith in local companies striving to do the best for their customers.

A huge undertaking to rewire a local farms installation, unfortunately the original company has gone into liquidation like so many others and the customer has been left with a huge system that simply didn't work properly. 30kwh of battery storage that was set up to charge in the AM and discharge in the PM To look like it was working. Interconnected supplies and wondering why 120amp breakers were tripping!!!!

Needless to say, sorting out other people's work is a horrible job as the more you pull it apart the more you find wrong. But... The install is upto spec and regs and should be having his witness test so the installation is actually legally grid tied. After what was originally spent I'm pretty shocked to have found what was found.

For those that know, look at the images and they just get worse and worse.

Massive shout out to M. Gymer Electrical for all your help with this one, we often work together on these bigger installs and he's a fountain of knowledge!

Please people, do your due diligence, check people are MCS accredited, make sure they are competent to do the install they claim they are, ask to see similar images of installations to what their intending to install and ask if they have any previous customers you can contact.
