Phase 1 garages on a new site — we’re fitting Prefa metal fascia, soffits and barge boards, with all fabrication completed by our team on site.

The big win is speed and flexibility. On this package, the main contractor is seeing an estimated ~30% saving versus fully manufactured routes, by avoiding design/manufacturing bottlenecks and working directly to site conditions.

Prefa coils can be on site within a couple of days, and if a detail changes, we can adjust and fabricate immediately — helping to avoid long lead-ins (often around 6 weeks, scope dependent).

A stunning start on a heritage project this morning — early mist around the property, with the local church in the background. It’s one of those sites that reminds you why getting the details right really matters.

We’ve been brought in to finish the roofing works on a historic bread oven at a 13th-century property. From what we can see, it was likely originally a conical tiled roof, but at some point in its history it was changed to a two-pitch tiled roof. Our role is to complete the roof covering and, importantly, carry out the more complex leadwork at the junctions and edges.

With heritage/traditional roofs, you can’t rely on “standard” solutions — the building dictates the approach. Good lead detailing and tidy finishes are what protect the fabric of the structure for the long term.

🔨 Chimney Rebuild – Part 2: Leadwork & Damp-Proof Tray 🔨

In this clip, we’re getting into the finer details of the rebuild — forming and lead-welding a damp-proof tray and flue fl**ge, then bedding it securely in mortar.

This crucial step stops any moisture from tracking down through the Victorian brickwork and into the loft conversion — protecting the structure for years to come.

🏠✨ Victorian Roof Restoration – Traditional Craftsmanship Meets Modern Performance

This week our team put our NVQ Level 3 in Roof Slating & Tiling to work on a beautiful Victorian property, carefully removing the original slate bay roof and reinstating it with natural small-format slates, featuring a decorative fish-tail course 🐟.

We also upgraded the roof with modern insulation, installed new lead work, and completed a full clean-down to restore the home’s character and longevity.

We use computer modelling to select plank thickness based on expected panel deflection and opening width. For this project, the wider opening specifies the 50 mm plank to maintain performance and seal integrity.

This week our team carried out a solar PV & mansafe system inspection in London E14. Alongside ensuring everything is safe and compliant, we had some incredible views across The City and Canary Wharf from the rooftop.

Using our FLIR E8 thermal imaging camera, we inspected each panel individually — with no anomalies or hotspots detected. Our inspections are backed by over 35 years of roofing expertise, NVQ certifications, and Level 1 thermography qualifications, giving clients confidence their systems are safe and performing as expected.
