If you’re working towards WELL Certification, tap specification is more than a finishing touch… it directly impacts compliance.

Achieving WELL requirements for effective handwashing depends on how the tap and washbasin work together. Get the tap length wrong, and you risk failing key criteria around usability, splash control, and water placement.

WELL sets clear expectations:

• Water must not flow directly into the drain (or a domed basin waste must be installed)
• No splashing outside the basin at full flow
• Basin must be at least 230mm wide at the point of use (active washing area)
• Water column must be at least 200mm from spout to basin
• Water must land at least 75mm away from any basin edge
