It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our Chairman, Andrew Bowden. Andrew was not only a leader of extraordinary vision, but the very heartbeat of Carbonxgen Limited. His loss leaves a space that words can scarcely fill, yet his impact will remain woven into the fabric of our company forever.
Andrew had a rare gift for bringing people togetherโuniting teams, ideas, and ambitions with an energy that was unmistakably his. He was passionate in everything he pursued, loyal beyond measure, and boldly authentic in a way that made him completely unforgettable. Andrew was proudly nonโPC before the phrase ever existedโnever afraid to say exactly what he thought, always ready with a quick quip or one of his legendary stories. And there were many stories. Those who worked with him know that any meeting, any conversation, any interaction could turn into an anecdote that would be retold for years. But beneath the humour, the bravado, and the unstoppable enthusiasm was a man who cared deeply. Andrew championed those who wanted to learn, those who wanted to grow, and those who wanted to make a difference. He invested in people with his time, his belief, and his heart.
His compassion extended far beyond Carbonxgen. The Hugs Foundation โfounded by Andrew to support vulnerable animals and the young people who benefit from caring for themโis one of his proudest legacies. The charity reflects everything he stood for: kindness, resilience, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others.
Andrewโs passion for the energy and sustainability sector, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his fierce devotion to this business have shaped Carbonxgen into what it is today. His leadership guided us, inspired us, and challenged us in the best ways possible. We will remember Andrew for his courage, his humour, his honesty, and his immense heart.
On behalf of everyone at Carbonxgen Limited, we extend our deepest condolences to Andrewโs wife Katie, his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him. Although Andrew remained our Chairman, he had not been involved in the dayโtoโday running of the business for several years. Our operations, leadership team, and service delivery continue as normal, fully supported by the strong structure he helped us build. As we honour Andrewโs memory, we remain steadfast in our commitment to continue his legacyโchampioning the principles he lived by, nurturing the culture he built, and carrying forward the purpose and passion he instilled in us all.
