Progress in Sandy – Groundworks Complete 🏗️

The weather has certainly tested us over the last couple of weeks, but the team has powered through some tough working conditions to keep this extension on track 🌧️

Foundations are dug and poured, drainage and soakaway are complete, and we’re now ready for brickwork to begin. 🧱

Groundworks are one of the most important phases of any build — and not always the easiest when the rain sets in. Great effort from the lads to deliver this stage safely and to spec.

We’re now into the finishing touches on this commercial project in Biggleswade. Final details are being completed, and the space is coming together exactly as planned.

The final product will be revealed soon – looking forward to sharing the completed result.

🚧 Demo complete in Sandy! 🚧

The demolition phase is officially done on this extension project and the site is now prepped and ready for the build to begin.👌

🚧 Project underway in Sandy 🚧

We’ve now started work on this single storey and garage extension after navigating a longer-than-usual planning and consultant process (client’s own consultants).

Site preparation is complete and demolition is now underway. Always good to see a project move from paperwork to progress on site.

We’ll be sharing updates as the build continues.

Commercial refurbishment update ✔️

Works are progressing well on this project, with painting now underway and second fix carpentry completed. Second fix electrics and plumbing are currently in progress, bringing the internal spaces closer to completion as the fit-out continues.

The layout is now fully defined, and the focus is on delivering a high-quality finish while maintaining programme and coordination across all trades.

A solid point in the programme on this commercial refurbishment for .

The unit has moved on significantly from an open shell, with the internal layout now fully formed. The space includes two private offices, a dedicated kitchen area and a customer-facing showroom, all set out to suit how the business will operate day to day.

At this stage, the key build and service works are in place. The offices have been constructed with sound performance in mind, all walls are insulated, first fix electrics and plumbing are complete, and the kitchen has been installed, which really starts to bring the space together.

Next on site is plastering, followed by decoration and the final detailing to complete the fit-out.

Projects like this are about understanding how a business uses its space and delivering something practical, well-built and fit for purpose. Looking forward to sharing the finished result.

A lot comes together before a driveway starts to look like a driveway. 🚧

Here’s what we’ve completed so far:

📏 The foundation that keeps the driveway stable long-term..

3️⃣ Drainage installed
💧 Essential for preventing movement and future sinking.

4️⃣ Fence posts set
🔩 Strong, level and aligned for a clean boundary

5️⃣ Gate posts fitted
🚪 Ready for the new gate to be added.

Most driveway failures happen before the blocks are even laid. 🧱

The groundwork is the part most people never see — but it’s the reason a driveway lasts 15+ years… or sinks in 18 months.

Here are the three things we focus on on every project:

1️⃣ Proper sub-base depth
This supports all the weight and prevents movement.

2️⃣ Correct compaction
Compacting in layers stops sinking and keeps the surface solid long-term.

3️⃣ Reliable drainage
If water isn’t managed properly, the whole driveway will eventually shift.

Quality groundwork isn’t optional — it’s everything.
