CWP Energy expects blade deliveries to commence for Sanquhar II Wind Farm in early June, and we hope this page will help keep the community informed throughout the delivery phase.
From port to the transfer area in New Cumnock, blades will be transported on a standard trailer, with these deliveries taking place at night. From the transfer point to site, turbine blades will be transported using a blade lift trailer. The blade lift raises the blade up to an angle of up to 60-degrees, allowing it to navigate tighter corners that would not otherwise be possible. The route the blade lift will be taking can be seen here - https://www.sanquhar2windfarm.co.uk/abnormal-load-deliveries
As agreed with East Ayrshire Council and Dumfries and Galloway Council, the first two weeks of movements will take place during the day, between 9:30am and 3:00pm. Following this period, deliveries will move to evenings, with deliveries departing the transfer point from 6:30pm onwards.
All deliveries will take place under police es**rt and some delays may occur. There will be designated points along the route where blades may be stopped to allow traffic to pass, this will be at the discretion of the police.
This page will provide weekly updates on expected deliveries, along with links to track the location of the blades to allow your journeys to be planned. Deliveries can be cancelled at last minute due to weather conditions and that information will also be posted here.
Updates will also be shared via our Sanquhar II WhatsApp channel, which you can join here: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbCEqtvJUM2VYl2Npe2w
