History took flight on Windermere ✈️

Back in 1911, Waterbird, commissioned by Edward Wakefield, became the first hydro-aeroplane to successfully take flight in Britain.

More than a century later, we had the incredible opportunity to watch its replica take to the skies once again, alongside the iconic Husky seaplane, all from the shores of Langdale Chase.

A spectacular moment, and a little piece of aviation history brought back to life over Windermere.

Sleapkosh 2026 ✈️ Just 6 years old and in my view the best fly-in Airshow in the UK. An incredible weekend with more aircraft than you can imagine and plenty of free b**r. Live music and live football, flour bombing and dogems for the kids, these guys thought of everything. Thanks has to go to Bruce Buglass and his fantastic team from Shropshire Aero Club for organising this special event. Enjoy your day off tomorrow guys, back to work Tuesday 💪 💪🤣
