It's always rewarding to see a project reach a wider audience.

I was delighted to see one of the exhibition panels Rocketbox Design Designed for the Royal Navy Museum in Portsmouth being used as the backdrop to an ITV News interview about HMS Victory's foresail exhibition.

A great project to be involved with, and well worth a visit.

We've had a rare glimpse of our past after recent winter storms revealed historic timbers on the beach.

Maritime archaeologists from Bournemouth University believe the timbers are a section of hull from the Swash Channel wreck, thought to be the Fame of Hoorn, a Dutch merchant ship that sank in 1631.

400 years ago, this section of coast would’ve been open sea which is why the timbers were found buried in sand rather than lying on the seabed and highlights the dynamic and ever-changing nature of the coast here.

Excavation and further tests will confirm its identity but we're asking visitors not to touch timbers while investigations continue.

Come explore Orkney’s past, meet Ragna, and be part of this historic experience.

Don't forget, there are Q&A sessions at 11am and 2pm with our team who will be able to answer any questions and who can help bring the exhibition to life!

Meet Ragna, the Viking woman who will answer your questions at a new permanent exhibition at The Orkney Museum on Broad Street in Kirkwall.

Join us on Saturday for the official launch of Viking Voices: Orkney from the Iron Age to the Late Norse.

This exhibition explores Orkney history in a way you've never seen before.

Created for the people of Orkney, this exhibition has been made possible by a donation from an Orcadian who wanted to tell the Viking story for all to enjoy.

We want you to enjoy new interpretations, revisit important artefacts and experience Orkney Museum like never before.

There are Q&A sessions on Launch day at 11am and 2pm, exploring the new exhibit and you'll have the chance to ask our curators, and Ragna!, any questions you might have!

We are looking forward to opening our doors and sharing with you.
