A common dilemma in many of the victorian houses around Southport.
What often happens is the ceilings crack and become loose over time, but we have lovely original cornice/coving in the room.

To save ripping down these old ceilings and damaging or even destroying the decorative plaster work we have another option.

What we do is board over the ceiling leaving a small shadow gap by the cornice. This way we preserve the original plasterwork and a have new solid ceiling.

Thankfully for all of us this method is much less messy than alternatives.

Some composite decking we installed.

A simple job, we replaced the old rotting decking with new.
The old framework had been installed poorly and was rotting quite badly creating a hazardous surface directly outside the garden doors.

We replaced all the framework with much more substantial timbers. All tied together using galvanised hangers to ensure against fixing failure in the future. Membrane laid to prevent any weeds growing up underneath.

Once we had a solid structure to build off we installed this lovely composite decking.

Composite decking has the advantages of being made from plastics, so it will never rot, it never needs painting, just a quick jet wash and it's good as new.

Bit of a project this one. We have expanded the team allowing us to take on much larger and different types of work.

The main job was removal of old render and replacing with a silicone Thincoat render system (avaliable in any colour, can even be colour matched)

As well as the rendering we also replaced several lintels around the property as they were wooden and had failed.

We also carried out repointing work to several areas of the property

There were some damp issues inside so we identified the cause of these which was partly ventilation and partly damp course, all of this has been sorted out.

To make sure the whole outside of the property looked good we trimmed around old painted wood and patched up the sandstone lintels.

This was an interesting little one.
The previous plasterers had used the wrong type of beads causing the render to crack off around the arch.
As a solution which saved redoing the whole panel I added a small feature.
The inside of the porch was also rendered to a smooth finish.

Bathroom Tiling

This bathroom turned out beautifully on a reasonable budget.

600 x 600 porcelain tiles on the walls and floor.

The floor required levelling which is common in older properties. All the old tiles and plaster work was removed and replaced with moisture resistant board.

When removing the old tiles and plaster we found there was a niche already in the wall. The decision was made to keep this existing feature in the new bathroom. Great place to tuck away the bathroom clutter.

Full bathroom renovations carried out working with fully qualified plumbers and electricians.

Internal Plastering work.

This hall stairs landing was looking quite tired. The ceiling had been damaged by previous leaks and covered in badly done artex.

We boarded the ceiling and skylight which made a huge difference to the landing area.
All loose plaster was removed and replaced with new.
Then all walls and landing ceiling were skimmed ready for decoration.

Specialists in internal and external plastering works, all building works covered.
