Solidarity matters. Today on World Mental Health Day, Pulman Steel is highlighting simple ways we can look out for each other across our yards, offices, and wider community.

1. Start small: If opening up feels daunting, try writing down your thoughts beforehand or suggest having a chat while going for a walk.

2. Listen to understand: When someone confides in you, focus on listening rather than trying to fix things straight away.

3. Access team support: Every Pulman Steel employee has access to free, confidential advice through our Employee Assistance Programme, site-based Mental Health First Aiders, and online mental health training modules on our company Learning Management System.

If you are one of our customers, suppliers, or friends in the community, please know that help is always out there for you too. Explore free listening and talking guides at mentalhealth.org.uk/wmhd.

Most steel stockholders can supply cut plate or raw sections, but very few offer full precision CNC machining on the exact same site. At Pulman Steel, we store the material, laser or plasma profile the plate, and perform full machining operations all under one roof at our Sowerby Bridge facility.

Our high-specification machining facilities are built to deliver capacity and precision for demanding projects:
✔️ Bed sizes up to 2134mm x 1016mm for oversized and large-scale components
✔️ Integrated APC (Automatic Pallet Changing) for continuous, non-stop batch production with zero downtime
✔️ Up to 24-tool automatic systems enabling rapid tool changes and complex high-tolerance work
✔️ Full processing capability across profiled plate, structural sections, flat bar, beams, and hollow sections

By bringing stockholding, profiling, and machining together in a single seamless workflow, we eliminate secondary handling costs, shorten lead times, and simplify your procurement down to one trusted supplier.

We're proud to see steel supplied by Pulman Steel at the heart of one of the most iconic attractions at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The spectacular Singer Central Feature, designed by Gerry Judah, dominates the landscape in front of Goodwood House and showcases three Singer Vehicle Design cars suspended from a dramatic triple-arch structure.

Pulman Steel supplied the structural steel and cut profiles used within the project, helping bring this ambitious design to life.

It's always rewarding to see our material used in projects that combine engineering, creativity and craftsmanship on such a high-profile stage.

Congratulations to everyone involved in delivering this remarkable installation.
