What better way to spend a bank holiday than to be fitting Air Conditioning on the hottest day in May since 1944.

This customer decided to try and beat the heat wave and put the comfort of themselves and their 2 year old child first by investing in Air Conditioning.

They were on a budget but wanted to cool their bedrooms, so we installed a 3.5kw unit on the landing opposite their bedrooms. This has provided ample cooling to their rooms.

And after the 1st night of it working their child's bedroom has cooled from 30°c down to 19°c after just 4 hours.

We've recently been out to service this cellar cooler for Stafford Rangers Football club.

We were contacted initially due to the cellar cooler not cooling the room properly and they were thinking it needed replacing.

After a quick inspection we suggested a good service would solve the issue.

The insides of both the indoor unit and the outdoor unit were covered in dust and cobwebs blocking the airflow and reducing the effectiveness of the units.

The outdoor unit, which was on the roof of the club, had got damage from a football. I think they need to work on their shooting 😂
This again blocking the airways and reducing the effectiveness.

But after a deep clean the unit has now been able to cool the room to the target temperature ❄️

We've recently been out to service this heat pump and what we found is the number 1 reason why they are expensive to run.

We found a severe lack of pipe insulation inside and outside resulting in wasted heat that should be used to heat the property, not the garden.

The heat pump also hadn't been serviced in a number of years so it was very dirty and there was a small amount of damage to the evaporator.

With proper insulation this heat pump would massively improve on performance and efficiency.

We've recently been out to service this heat pump, On arrival, we started to notice a few issues with the installation. Firstly the heat pump hadn't been installed level, resulting in water entering and not leaving - meaning a large amount of rust had appeared. So bad that after only being in for 5 years, it will probably need replacing in the next year. It also wasn't fully secured underneath, just balancing on a few bricks and paving slabs.

The pipe insulation had shrunk, leading to exposed pipes and thus losing heat, and it was none existent in places. The key to heat pumps working efficiently is retaining as much heat in the pipes as possible.

And finally we also believe that the heat pump is undersized for the property, leading to excessive use and therefore more expensive bills than it should be.

A busy couple of weeks for Holland Gas.

A recent install of ours.

Our customer contacted us prior to Christmas, wanting to upgrade their cylinder and replace their leaky boiler, which was also undersized for the property, leading to a cold house.

We recommended an Intergas Heating UK boiler and an Intergas Xylinder. Controlled with opentherm controls and PDHW (Priority Domestic Hot Water) in order to reduce the amount of gas used so the customer saves money.

The PDHW with the Xylinder is capable of reheating the water from cold to hot in about 10 to 15 minutes.

The boiler comes with a 12 year warranty and the Xylinder has 25 year warranty, giving the customer peace of mind for the foreseeable future.

This system also has the scope for future upgrades to the property, as well as the option to add the Intergas Hybrid Heat Pump, further adding to the customers savings.
