Another happy customer and a super high quality finish.

An overskim was needed but while prepping my finger went straight through the plasterboard so cut the small section out, reboarded the specific area and skimmed.

A couple of recent jobs completed.
The first was a bedroom bay window ceiling. While these are normally constructed from concrete, this particular property had a stud-framed ceiling and had previously suffered from damp and mould issues. The existing plasterboard was removed, Rockwool insulation was installed and the area was then reboarded and skimmed. The remaining wall surfaces were also skimmed to leave a smooth, high-quality finish.

The second job was a staircase. The wall had a mixture of backgrounds, including old render with a scratch coat, bare plaster and previously painted surfaces. After skimming, some cracking appeared due to the different substrates. I returned to the property, applied fibreglass mesh reinforcement and reskimmed the affected areas. The job is now completed to a high standard with a crack-free finish.

Had some very busy days recently with plenty of work completed to a high standard.

One of the recent jobs involved removing loose render from a wall, which revealed old straw block sections underneath. The damaged areas were properly boarded out and fully skimmed, leaving a smooth, high-quality finish.

Another job completed was around a door frame wall and the side of a staircase. New beads were fitted where needed before the areas were professionally skimmed to a clean, sharp finish.

If you need a quote for any plastering repair or touch up, don’t hesitate to get in touch for a free estimate. All work carried out to a high standard with attention to detail and a quality finish every time.

This week’s main project involved beading and skimming a chimney breast and reveals, completed to a high standard.

Three seperate jobs, all loose plaster was carefully removed where necessary, with reboarding carried out above a door frame, around a bay window and another repair beneath a bedroom window.

Each area was properly prepared and finished to achieve a clean, smooth, and consistent result throughout.

If you’re looking for reliable, high-quality plastering work, feel free to get in touch for a free quote or to discuss your project.

Busy week on the tools 🧱 💪 🔨 🪚
Started off with the dirtiest job....a chimney dig out — installed a DPC, built a stud frame, then boarded and skimmed the area to finish it off clean.
Also got a bathroom ceiling fully skimmed, leaving it nice and smooth.
Wrapped up the week with a smaller job over the weekend sorting out a window wall, with head and reveals to a lovely, smooth, perfected finish.
On to the next one 💪

I was recently asked to assess a ceiling for an elderly gentleman who had been concerned that the repair might cost close to £1,000. After inspecting the existing lathe and plaster ceiling, which was covered with polystyrene tiles that required removal, I was able to provide a much more reasonable quote (around a quarter of the price)—much to his relief.
The work involved carefully scraping off the polystyrene tiles, cutting back the damaged lathe and plaster to the nearest joists, reboarding the affected area, and finishing with a full reskim of the ceiling to achieve a smooth, clean finish.

My phone went dicky and wiped all my photo's from the last week or so of work I've recently completed.

However, work I completed yesterday of the downstairs area and utility room. The window wall has now been fully skimmed and just requires a vent and a sill to finish it off. The window wall has also been thermal boarded, which will be skimmed at a later date.
Additionally, the adjacent wall, which was previously in poor condition, has now been fully skimmed and finished to a smooth, high-quality standard.

Over the past week, I’ve carried out a varied range of plastering work across several projects. This has included installing thermal boarding to improve insulation, followed by clean, smooth skimming to achieve a high-quality finish. I’ve also fitted new skirting boards and installed fresh window sills, ensuring a neat and professional look throughout.
In addition, I’ve completed a number of overskims to refresh and modernise existing surfaces, as well as more involved preparation work such as knocking off old render before re-skimming for a flawless result. Each job has been approached with attention to detail, ensuring durability and a consistent finish across all work undertaken.

A customer asked me to help with a damp wall. The dampness on the wall was likely caused by moisture penetrating through the existing surface. To resolve the issue and help prevent it returning, I recommended a few steps to properly repair and protect the wall.
First, the affected area was treated with a tanking slurry. This creates a waterproof barrier that helps stop moisture from coming through the wall. Once that had been applied and cured, an insulated plasterboard was fitted to improve both moisture resistance and thermal insulation.
After the board was installed, the wall was skimmed to create a smooth, finished surface ready for decorating. Finally, a new torus skirting board was fitted along the bottom of the wall to replace the previous one and complete the finish.
This approach helps protect the wall from further damp issues while also giving a clean and solid finish.

At various locations around the property, several areas required patching and plastering. Two patches were in the living room, two in the bedroom, and one in the bathroom behind the radiator. The area behind the radiator obviously awkward to reach, required cutting some plasterboard into place, using a couple of pieces of baton to aid some support and was then skimmed.
In the bedroom, the two patches were bonded up and skimmed over.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take after photos of the two remaining patches in the living room.
