Filter care is so important for your air con or heat recovery unit, a blocked or partially blocked filter will prevent the system from performing its duty in the correct way.
Remember that everything that floats around in the air will get sucked into your filter, that's general dust, pollen, insects, hair, fluff and germs from coughs and sneezes..
Restricted air flow will cause your system to work harder for longer meaning that its effective performance will reduced and the system will begin to use much more electricity than it should.

What happens if you let some fly-by-night fit an air con unit above the one that I installed 2 years ago but he doesn't connect the condensate outlet pipe?
Answer; the condensate pours out all over the unit below freezing it, the fan blades can't turn so they snap off and cost you £350 for a new part.. chuckle chuckle chuckle
