Happy World Environment Day! The Ulex Team love today because it reminds us why we are so passionate about ! This week we started this ground-mounted system for a customer who will be living off-grid for the next 2 years whilst they are building their dream house. Permitted development rights limits the number of panels to 9 square meter equivalent to 4 panels so we made sure we used the highest wattage panel on the market in this size the Aiko 540W Neostar 3P+. We can all do our bit! Happy

Check out our latest installation, completed this week. 19 Aiko Neostar 2S 510W panels, a 8kW Growatt inverter and a 16kW Fogstar battery.

With shade from a boiler flue being an issue we redesigned the panels to include a 3rd string to reduce loss of panel efficiency. We could have used an easier optimiser, like some other firms, but this solution is prone to failure and can result in costs of about £1000 to replace, not including scaffolding costs.

The 16kW battery will allow the customer to have sufficient storage capacity to power a heat pump, due to be installed at a later date. Finally, the 8kW inverter is powerful enough to power this and the house load usage during the winter.

We have loved encouraging local young children to get involved with The Enterprise Challenge and in all honesty have been blown away by how much they have embraced the opportunity, their knowledge and their enthusiasm.

Today, at Newton CP, was no different. They were fully engaged, asked lots of questions and even at the end of the session wanted to show us their work so far, despite it being ‘break time’! We’ve found our sessions, with all the schools we’ve visited, to be so inspiring and we're excited to see how these bright minds of today lead us into a bright future.
