We hope everyone has had a fantastic summer—and managed to spend some time at the beach!

As a local business, we at Ulex Energy feel incredibly fortunate to have the Gower and its beautiful coastline on our doorstep. We have even enjoyed summer installations across the Peninsula—lucky us!

We are not the only ones who have made the most of these wonderful places, and we would like to give something back.

Even when visitors take great care, litter and debris can still accumulate or be washed ashore. Keeping our coastline clean helps protect the local environment and ensures our beaches remain beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

That is why we are joining forces with the Environment Centre and the Gower Walking Festival for a community coastal clean on Sunday 13 September.

We will meet at 10.30 am at the Observatory in Swansea Marina, then walk to Secrets Beach Bar and back, collecting litter along the way.

The event is free, family-friendly and a lovely opportunity for the community to come together and care for our coastline.

Ofgem has just announced that the energy price cap is rising again from October, taking the typical annual figure to £1,723.

Solar panels cannot stop the price cap from increasing—but they can reduce the amount of electricity your home needs to buy from the grid.

The annual celebration of Gower returns and invites you to enjoy a unique landscape and a rich heritage. All Gower Walking Festival walks are guided by experts who love Gower and who will share their expertise as we walk. Walks vary in difficulty, and are accessible to everyone.

Take a look at two of our installations from this week! ☀️

Pictures 1–3: A Sigenergy system with 16kWh battery storage and Gateway, paired with 24 × Aiko 480W in-roof panels using the S4 mounting system. The solar installation is complete and ready for the roofers to reinstate the tiles around the array.

Pictures 4–8: A Duracell system with 16kWh battery storage and 13 × Perlight 495W solar panels.

Our team takes real pride in the quality of every installation. Solar panels can be on your home for 25 years or more, so good workmanship and taking care of the property they're installed on really matters.

🎓 Supporting the next generation of engineers.

This summer we were pleased to welcome Gibril Sallah to Ulex Energy for a short work-experience project.

Gibril recently completed a BEng in Medical Engineering and will shortly begin an MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering at Cardiff University, with a particular interest in the energy industry.

As part of his work experience, Gibril was given a defined automation project focused on improving one of our internal processes, giving him the opportunity to apply his engineering and problem-solving skills to a real business challenge.

A great piece of work from Gibril, and we wish him all the best with his Master's and future engineering career! 👏

We're always pleased to support students and early-career engineers by providing opportunities to gain practical experience on real-world projects.

48.3kWh of battery storage and full-house backup!⚡

Last week we completed this stunning upgrade, replacing our customer's existing string inverter with a Solis S6 Plus 8kW hybrid inverter, coupled with a huge 48.3kWh Fogstar Modular Battery Stack.

The customer also wanted peace of mind during power outages, so we installed a Fox EPS Gateway, which integrates really well with Solis systems to provide automatic whole-house backup if the grid goes down.

A serious amount of storage, lower reliance on the grid and the reassurance of keeping the house powered during an outage.
