🎃🚜 HAPPY NATIONAL PUMPKIN DAY! 🚜🎃

It’s officially time to celebrate one of autumn’s most recognisable crops!

From pumpkin patches to pumpkin soup, pies and Halloween lanterns, pumpkins are a pretty versatile crop and there’s a lot more to them than meets the eye!

Did you know?
🎃 Pumpkins are part of the squash family, alongside courgettes, marrows and butternut squash.
🌍 They’re grown commercially across the world, with pumpkins being an important seasonal crop.
🐝 Their bright flowers rely on pollinators such as bees to help produce those iconic pumpkins.
🌾 Pumpkins grow on long trailing vines and need plenty of space to spread across the field.
🧡 And that familiar orange colour comes from carotenoids, particularly beta-carotene.

So, whether you’re carving one, cooking one or spotting them out in the fields… today is all about giving pumpkins the appreciation they deserve!

Can you believe it's October already?

A new month means another month of keeping farms, machinery and equipment moving.
As the days get shorter and the weather starts to change, it's a good time to think about the jobs that are easy to put off until "later"…

In simple terms, agricultural engineering is about helping keep the machinery, equipment and systems used in agriculture working as they should.

From diagnosing problems and carrying out repairs to maintenance and engineering solutions, it's all about helping farmers keep things moving.

And let's be honest… when you're working to tight agricultural deadlines, a machine that isn't working is never convenient!

There are two types of people…
1️⃣ "I'll get it checked before the busy season."
2️⃣ "If it isn't broken, don't touch it!"

🌱 The season keeps moving — and so does the work on the farm.

As we head towards the end of September, there's always plenty to think about: machinery, maintenance, drainage, ground conditions, repairs and getting prepared for the months ahead.

Agricultural engineering might not always be the most visible part of farming, but when equipment isn't working properly, it can quickly become one of the most important.
