A VERY LOCAL FARMING EVENT

So sorry Iโ€™ve been a little quiet latelyโ€ฆ my social media team decided to take a well-deserved break! ๐Ÿ˜‚ (Bit rude, if you ask me!)

BUTโ€ฆ theyโ€™re back, and weโ€™re kick-starting September with a VERY local event!

Weโ€™ve already confirmed Southwell Ploughing Match & Show, AgriScot and LAMMA, so thereโ€™s plenty more agricultural action coming up over the next few months!

But with The Collingham Show being just around the corner and right on our doorstep, it was only right that we kick-started 1st September with this fantastic local event!

๐Ÿ“… Saturday 19th September 2026
๐Ÿ“ Larksfield, Newark Road, Collingham

๐ŸŽ‰ THE COLLINGHAM SHOW! ๐ŸŽ‰

Just down the road from us here in Swinderby, the Collingham Show brings together everything we love about our agricultural and rural community, with plenty to see and do throughout the day:

๐Ÿšœ Traditional ploughing & plashing
๐ŸŒพ Vintage tractors & agricultural machinery
๐Ÿ„ Livestock
๐Ÿ• Dog show
๐Ÿ† Main ring events
๐Ÿš— Vintage vehicles
๐ŸŒป Homegrown produce & countryside exhibits
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ Plenty of local farming talent and rural tradition

And with the show now in its 173rd year, itโ€™s a fantastic celebration of local agriculture, farming heritage and everything that makes our countryside so special.

And this is just the start! ๐Ÿ‘€

Soโ€ฆ whoโ€™s heading to Collingham on 19th September? ๐Ÿ‘‡

โ˜€๏ธ Farming through the 2026 drought

2026 HAS CERTAINLY TESTED UK FARMERS. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿšœ

Extreme heat and exceptionally dry conditions have made this yearโ€™s growing and harvest season particularly challenging across the UK.

With much of England affected by drought conditions, farmers are having to adapt quickly and machinery reliability becomes even more important when every available hour counts.

HARVEST 2026 ๐Ÿšœ๐ŸŒพ

Another harvest season is officially in the books here in the UK.

From long days in the cab to early starts, late finishes and machines working hard in the field, harvest is one of the busiest times of the agricultural calendar.

And 2026 has given us a memorable one โ€” including the first total solar eclipse visible tonight since 1999. ๐ŸŒ‘โ˜€๏ธ

Once the last load leaves the field, though, the work doesnโ€™t stop. Nowโ€™s the time to get machinery checked, serviced and ready for whatever comes next.

A big well done to the farmers, contractors and other agricultural engineers who have worked tirelessly throughout the season.

Harvest 2026 complete. Now itโ€™s time to prepare for the next job. ๐Ÿšœ

๐ŸŒพ Itโ€™s Augustโ€ฆ one of the busiest months in British farming.

For many farms, harvest is in full swing. Combines, tractors, trailers, balers and telehandlers are clocking up long hours, often working from early morning until late into the evening.

With machinery under constant pressure, itโ€™s also one of the times of year when wear and tear becomes more noticeable.

Things to look out for include:
๐Ÿ”ง Hydraulic hose leaks
โš™๏ธ Worn bearings and belts
๐ŸŒพ Blockages from dust, straw and crop debris
๐Ÿšœ Tyre damage from heavy field work
๐Ÿ”ฉ Loose or worn components caused by continuous use
๐Ÿ”ฅ Overheating due to clogged radiators and cooling systems

Catching these issues early can help prevent unexpected breakdowns, reduce costly repairs and keep your harvest moving when every hour counts.

Whether you need repairs, servicing, inspections or welding and fabrication, I am here to help keep your machinery reliable throughout the busiest season of the year.

Stay safe, keep your equipment maintained, and make the most of every dry day.

If your machinery needs attention this harvest, get in touch.
