We all know how hard the water is like around Tetbury, Cirencester, Malmesbury and surrounding areas but this is a new one on me. Customer had rung up to say there toilet isn’t flushing very well and there wasn’t much water going into the pan. The holes in the pan were blocked up of limescale not allowing the water to spread around the pan instead it just went down one hole. We tried descaled and other things but to no avail. So we changed the toilet in the end. We opened up the close coupled toilet where the cistern joined onto the pan and found a lot of limescale build up.

Doing a routine boiler service for new customer. Found a leak on the gas metre from a weld/joint. Transco came out within half hour to swap the metre over. All safe now. This is why you should always spray lean detection fluid on gas joints. Just don’t know what’s about or who’s left what behind.

Called out to a customer not having any hot water in there cylinder on a vaillant system boiler. Turned out to be water ingress and it had got onto the pumps electric board and stopped working. Changed it over for a new one and working fine now.

Got called out to a customer there boiler wasn’t working. No hot water or heating. Took the condense trap apart and found this amount of debris in the condense trap. They had it serviced not long ago from another company. All fired up and working for them now. Another happy customer.

Was called out to a customer. Couple of radiators weren’t working properly. Thought I would try my new thermal imagine camera. They were between 29c and 33. Heating system needed balancing and checking over. Balanced them up and now getting about 45c through them. Another happy customer.

That’s another happy customer. Had a emergency phonecall saying the boiler stopped working this morning. No heating and hot water 🥶 🥶. Diagnosed the control board (PCB) had gone. Had one of these on the van and replaced it and away it went. House back up and running and onto the next job.

Just getting back from new years holiday and had a Worcester boiler breakdown. Customer just sold there house and needed a safety check but the boiler wasn’t working. Investigated it and the fan wasn’t coming on making the boiler lock out. (It had got moisture on its pcb) After doing a few checks and little tricks, I needed to get a new fan. Only place I could find one was in Swindon. Customer was happy for me to come back next week but they had no heating and only hot water on back up immersion. So I went to Swindon straight away to get one (with the cold weather forecasted) fitted the new fan and got the boiler back up and running. Did what I needed to do and was on my way. Another happy customer.

Emergency cylinder change yesterday (23rd Dec). Customer called saying they had water coming through the ceiling. Jumped into action went and investigated and the weld had failed on the cylinder. Had to be changed. After 7/8 phonecalls to various merchants I finally found one in Gloucester. Little smaller than the old one but it meant we could stop the leak and the customers will have hot water over the Christmas period. Otherwise it would be turn it off to make safe meaning no hot water. I drove to pick it up whilst Neil drained it down and got it ready for when I was back and get it straight in. All piped up and hot water back on. Very happy customers.

That’s a wrap from us. It’s been a great year taking on more work. Seeing more lovely customers. Going from strength to strength and more to come in the new year.
I am about if it’s an emergency.
I would like to thank Neil for coming on board and being a great asset to the company and also Julian Pearce for helping me out especially in the last few months when I had my hand operation and wasn’t able to get around to customers.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas and prosperous new years. From me and everyone at Sam price plumbing and heating Merry Christmas and a happy new years.

To Everyone. Just to inform you that, I am in need of an operation on my hand and it’s come through this evening that it is tomorrow that they want to do this operation and I will be in cast for about a month which will rule me out from doing the work but not coming to see jobs and getting things ready for when I’m back fit. Neil will be doing the work that comes in and that I have booked in but there’s only so much one man can do. Please be patient and in no time I’ll be back to it. The phone will still be on so if you need any works doing then please do get in touch. For anyone that knows me It’s the last thing I want to do but I can’t work with one hand.
