Small changes can make a difference.

If you regularly use the same products, choosing a refill pack instead of buying a new container every time can be a simple way to reduce packaging waste.

♻️ Less plastic — keep your original container in use for longer.

🌍 Less packaging waste — refilling means fewer new bottles and containers are needed over time.

📦 Make every delivery count — larger refill quantities can mean fewer individual packs being produced, packed and delivered.

💰 And it can save you money too — refill quantities can offer better value for regular users.

It’s a simple idea: reuse what you already have, refill when you can, and reduce what you throw away.

Every refill may seem like a small step — but small changes, repeated over time, can add up.

♻️ Refill. Reuse. Reduce.

Please always check that your existing container is suitable and compatible with the product, and follow all product safety and storage guidance.

🐶🧪 What's a chemist's favourite dog?

A Laboratory Retriever! 😂

We couldn't resist that one...

At Wessex Chemicals, we're lucky enough to have three four-legged members of the team keeping an eye on things around the office—Bear, Ripley and Jeff. 🐾

They're not quite Laboratory Retrievers (and they definitely don't help with product development!), but they're always happy to boost morale, greet visitors and remind us to take a break.

Now it's your turn...
💬 What's your favourite science or chemistry joke? Leave it in the comments—we're always looking for a good reaction! 😉

🧽🦠 Cleaning, disinfecting and sanitising... they're not the same thing!

It's easy to use these words interchangeably, but in chemistry they each mean something different.

✨ Cleaning removes dirt, grease and some microorganisms from a surface. It helps things look clean, but it doesn't necessarily kill harmful germs.

🧪 Disinfecting uses chemicals to destroy harmful microorganisms on surfaces, helping to reduce the risk of spreading infection.

🛡️ Sanitising reduces the number of microorganisms to levels considered safe by public health standards. It doesn't necessarily eliminate them completely.

So why does it matter?

Choosing the right product depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're removing everyday dirt, cleaning may be all you need. If hygiene is the priority, a disinfectant or sanitiser could be the better choice.

Understanding the science behind these processes helps you make informed decisions—and get the results you expect.

🧪 Chemistry isn't just about what's in the bottle... it's about knowing which chemistry is right for the job.

☀️🚐 Last getaway of the summer? Be prepared! 🚤

As we approach the last bank holiday of the summer, for many it's the final caravan, motorhome or boating trip before autumn arrives.

Before you hit the road or head for the water, take a few minutes to get everything ready:

💙 Blue Bio – Keep your toilet system fresh, effective and ready for the journey.
🛁 Bathroom Cleaner – Quickly tackle limescale, soap scum and everyday grime.
✨ Waterless Wash – Give your caravan, motorhome or boat a sparkling finish without needing a hose.
🌿 Odour Eliminator – Freshen up living spaces, upholstery, pet areas and anywhere unwanted smells have built up over the summer.

A little preparation now means you can spend less time cleaning and more time making memories. 🌅

🌞🪑 Last Bank Holiday of the summer? Give your teak furniture some TLC before the seasons change!

The final Bank Holiday is the perfect opportunity to enjoy your outdoor space—and prepare it for the months ahead.

If your teak furniture has been exposed to a summer of intense sunshine, heat and BBQs, now is the ideal time to restore and protect it.

Here's our three-step teak care system:

🧼 Teak Cleaner – Removes dirt, weathering and surface grime to reveal the natural beauty of the wood.

✨ Teak Renovator – Revives tired, greyed teak, helping to restore its warm, natural appearance.

🛡️ Teak Sealer – Protects the freshly restored surface, helping to preserve the colour and reduce future weathering.

A little care now can help keep your garden furniture looking its best, ready for next spring and summer.

💬 Do you store your garden furniture over winter or leave it outside? Let us know in the comments!
