Well done to the Oxley Soapbox team, who came second in this year's Barrow Soapbox Derby!🥈

The team raced the cart down Dalton Road, launching it from a 5-meter-high ramp and manoeuvring through a track filled with obstacles. With 18 teams taking part this year, securing 2nd place is an incredible achievement! 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who helped design and build the cart, to Cosmo for driving, and to everyone who came along to support on the day.

The Barrow Soapbox Derby is nearly here! 🏁

The Oxley team have been working hard making the final touches to our F1-style kart, ready for the big event. This is our fourth year taking part, and we’re hoping for our best performance yet 🏆

Racing starts in Barrow Town Centre from 10am on Saturday 15th August.

With 18 local businesses taking part, and a range of activities happening across the town, its set to be a great day. Come down to check out our kart and cheer on the team! 🙌

We're proud to share that Oxley has achieved the Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme, the highest recognition for employers supporting the Armed Forces community.

This award marks an important milestone in our Armed Forces Covenant journey, having progressed from Bronze in 2023 and Silver in 2024 to Gold recognition today.

As a long established defence manufacturer, we are committed to supporting veterans, reservists and cadets through inclusive recruitment, supportive workplace policies, skills development and community engagement.

We're also proud to work alongside fellow Armed Forces Covenant signatories across the region, sharing best practice and strengthening support for the Armed Forces community. As part of this commitment, we've mentored three organisations on their own ERS journeys, helping them develop their pledges and achieve recognition.

A huge thank you to our colleagues, partners and everyone who has contributed to this achievement. We look forward to continuing our support for those who serve and have served.
